More journal guidelines are including open science in their policies than ever before. Last month we found 185 journals that increased their TOP Factor. In particular, disclosing the availability (or lack thereof) of research materials is on the upswing. 📲 I am happy to publish this second paper about competition #modeling from my doctoral thesis. I am grateful to the co-authors for their invaluable contributions. I warmly invite everyone interested to read our study and give us feedback about it. 💡 The paper's highlights are: • Competition effects can impact the ranking and mislead the early #selection. • Multi-age spatial competition model yielded higher #accuracy than single-age models. • The reliability of direct and indirect genotypic effects should be considered as a weight in a selection index. • The trade-off between direct and indirect genotypic effects can be used to recommend genotypes to Southern Brazil.
