GluCare.Health - this is a brilliant way of proactively using ŌURA data in clinical practice. Here is a little case study from my practice: ⭐️ Perimenopausal woman gaining weight despite an excellent diet and extensive exercise regimen. ⭐️ Review of her ŌURA data suggested that she was overtraining and undersleeping. She had poor HRV and Readiness Scores, and her sleep duration and structure were suboptimal. ⭐️ With the help of this data, we established a new regimen: less HIIT and hardcore gym work, more recovery + activities that activate the parasympathetic system, and optimization of supplementation. Her diet remained the same. ⭐️ Result = significant improvements in HRV, Readiness Score and Sleep Score. Feeling great AND 2kg weight loss in 3 weeks. Health happens 24/7. BIG FOT/Oscillometry news ! - new publication on AJRCCM : A milestone for Respiratory Oscillometry/FOT : it may be the GAME CHANGER we all wanted to see, the publication, on the Blue Journal, of the results from the important LEAD Study, General population : 18-90 years: 7.560 subjects, the largest Longitudinal, observational, cohort study, ever made on Oscillometry and Forced Spirometry. The FOT device used is the Resmon Pro FULL. A few of the important points from the study : - Detection and Monitoring Oscillometry is a tool for detecting and evaluating abnormalities of respiratory mechanics that are not seen by spirometry, even in subjects with symptoms, providing an opportunity for monitoring of respiratory conditions. - Complementary Diagnostic Tool: Integrating oscillometry with spirometry measurements allows for the identification of an additional 17% of the population with symptoms/diagnoses and abnormal lung mechanics. - Small Airways Assessment: Oscillometry’s higher sensitivity than spirometry to small airways involvement, in conditions such as COPD and asthma, which may not be fully seen by spirometry. - Clinical Utility outside hospital labs: “Oscillometry can be particularly valuable in situations where spirometry cannot be performed, or outside major academic centers where the quality of spirometry can be poor and technicians as well as patients would prefer not to perform the test. “   And it brings up 2 VERY IMPORTANT POINTS about single and multiple frequencies testing, which will be fundamental now that we are launching the FIRST, "the first mini-oscillometer", a hand-held single frequency FOT device :   - “Our results also revealed that the odds of having symptoms or diseases were similar for subjects with abnormal AX and X5, and that AX and X5 are strongly correlated” - “The addition of Ax and R5-19 add little information compared to Xrs 5Hz, making possible the development and use of simpler and portable device in large scale screening applications.” Restech - Respiratory Technology, MGC Diagnostics International, MGC Diagnostics you can read the full article here : https://lnkd.in/dzUJfTfm and now, as of last week, the important EDITORIAL to the article, by Dr. Dave Kaminsky, one of the FOT field Key Opinion Leaders

Predicting longevity in patients who may be candidates for #aortic repair is challenging. This, coupled with a high and unchanging long-term postoperative mortality rate, begs the question: are patients living long enough to benefit from aortic repair? Bijan Modarai (King's College London and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK) set out and addressed this conundrum at the 27th European Vascular Course (EVC; 3–5 March, Maastricht, The Netherlands). He argued that a lack of evidence for predicting longevity—a key factor in deciding whether a patient should undergo aortic aneurysm repair—necessitates a future move towards precision medicine and personalised treatment to avoid operating on patients unnecessarily.
