🧠 Exciting news! Our co-founder Micah Edelson, PhD and Todd Hare recently published a paper on how we make decisions in challenging situations that demand high self-control, like stressful work environments 🤯 🔍 The study used brain scans to test how our brains handle information when we need to control ourselves, like resisting tempting stuff. Turns out, that your brain has a useful ability - it can guide your memory network to selectively remember things that are more aligned with your current goal. This makes self-control easier. 💡 The ability to modify memory representations could be a game-changer in developing strategies for better decision-making and self-control, particularly in health-related behaviors. For example, imagine that when choosing between a salad and a cake your brain automatically recalls all the best experiences you ever had with salads and the worst experiences with cakes. This makes it much easier to choose the salad. 🌟 This study prompts us to rethink what we know about self-control and gives us new ideas to explore the complex ways in which our brains and behaviors are connected. ❤️Unlocking #ThePowerOfSanskrit #SanskritEffect #CognitiveRevolution Sharing this enlightening video on the Sanskrit Effect & its profound impact on our human brains!👍 Recent research studies have shown that memorizing & reciting ancient Sanskrit mantras can significantly enhance cognitive functions. This practice, passed down through generations, has been scientifically proven to increase the size of brain regions associated with memory & thinking skills. Checkout The Research Paper Below in ResearchGate.Net & Academia.Edu: A Neuroscientist Explores the "#SanskritEffect" https://lnkd.in/g8m8w-HU https-blogsscientificamericancom-observations-a-neuroscientist-explores-the-sanskrit-effect.pdf?origin=publication_detail https://lnkd.in/grXuXYRw. Neuroscientist Dr. James Hartzell's research reveals that professional Vedic pandits, who train for years in oral memorization, exhibit remarkable increases in grey matter density and cortical thickness. This not only boosts memory but also enhances overall cognitive abilities. What's even more fascinating is that this ancient wisdom is now being embraced by many Western universities, where rigorous research continues to uncover the incredible benefits of Sanskrit on the brain. Folks, Join me in exploring how this timeless tradition is shaping modern neuroscience and unlocking new potentials for cognitive enhancement. #SanskritEffect #CognitiveScience #Neuroscience #AncientWisdom #BrainHealth #Innovation ❤️Wishing EVERYONE a #SuperbSunday #WonderfulWeekend & a #SuperbSeptember Month Ahead all! The #1 reason why people fail at evolving their human potential is labeling anything different as “weird” or “useless” without looking at the deeper layer. It’s easy to judge a book by its cover. After all, you don’t need to read it to do so. But what if, by doing so, you’re preventing yourself from reading a book that could change the trajectory of your life? The same is true for your daily actions, choices, thoughts, and behaviors. We live on autopilot and quickly dismiss anything that is alien to us, rushing back to the too-comfortable familiar self. But what is hiding behind the surface? The evolved version of you. DM me to get there faster! 🧬✨ #PerformanceScience #Neuroscience #PeakPerformance #Longevity #Healthspan #HealthOptimization

💡Struggling with a tough problem? Steve Jobs used a simple yet powerful method: the 10-minute rule. If he couldn't solve a challenge in 10 minutes, he'd go for a walk. Modern neuroscience backs this up—walking helps your brain enter a more relaxed, creative state, allowing new ideas to emerge. Next time you're stuck, don't force it. Get up, take a walk, and let your mind wander. Sometimes, movement is the key to unlocking innovation. Read more from Inc. The 'Veli Ndaba NeuroEngineering Leadership Effect' #VNNLE ➠ Transforming Minds from Mental Darkness to Mental Light
Are You Too Busy For Your Well-being? I’ve just wrapped up my workshop on how #Neuroscience helps us explain the impact our actions and behaviours have on our brain chemistry. Your brain chemistry determines your state of well-being. I took the audience on a journey of Ubuntu principles for maintaining a happy environment. It’s very unfortunate that #Ubuntu has been largely spoken of as if it lives in academia or is a foreign phenomenon. Our lack of basic brain understanding and busyness has made us to lose touch with ourselves, our power to heal ourselves, and to maintain a healthy well-being. The power to counteract inevitable stresses that are beyond your control in the workplace, is in YOUR hands. We all have this magical ability - through our thoughts, actions and behaviours – to activate our natural chemicals that contain healing properties. Furthermore, what we are learning from the latest #Neuroscience studies is that these brain chemicals are heavily influenced by our #choices and #decisions from moment to moment. As social creatures, we crave such brain chemicals for #safety, #motivation, #bonding, #laughter, #belonging and #inclusion. I shared strategies and habits with the audience to develop and activate these chemicals at will. Can you really afford to let your organisation miss this life-changing experience? Let’s help you create a unique experience for your organisation. Visit our website www.velindaba.com

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰? 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞. "That is Not How Your Brain Works" is a fantastic read from Lisa Feldman Barrett and a good start to #BrainAwarenessWeek. So what's the answer to this image question? Please visit Lisa's article for the answer. Read at https://lnkd.in/gU4FizMV 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞. The stories we tell ourselves about our brains are often inconsistent with the latest #science. The author unpacks three such myths. 1. Specific parts of your #brain are where specific jobs are performed (e.g., this one part of your brain is where listening is processed or that's the one part of the brain where learning occurs). 2. We are not simple #stimulus - #response machines. 3. Conditions that affect the brain are not completely separate from conditions that affect your body. It's a great article and well worth the read. #brainweek #neuroscience #brainhealth #brainhealthmatters #singapore #singaporebusiness Dana Foundation
