We’ve seen mistakes occur in the process of making a #urethanerubber mold to the point where it starts deforming after it’s been demolded. The most likely reason for this is that you demolded too early or began #casting too early. VFI always recommends waiting at least 16 hours to demold your new mold, but this will also depend on the conditions you’re working in. Before casting, we recommend letting your mold sit at room temperature for at least 3 days. This waiting period allows your mold to gain the strength and properties necessary to withstand multiple casts. There are several other reasons your mold could be deforming. This week ends on a high note! I am pleased to announce that we have now received the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the precision machine that will repair loose bushings in the blade root. We have spent the last few years developing the on-site blade root bushing repair machine with our partner in Denmark, CNC Onsite. The machine you see here is the result of our joint efforts, exchanging our expertise across Denmark and the Netherlands.   The precision machine is ready for repairs in the field. The mobile machine will drill out the loose bushings to precision. This is the first part of the repair process. Afterwards, the machine will insert We4Ce's Re-FIT bushings. These patented bushings are inserted using infusion technology, which introduces epoxy resin that embeds the new bushing to fix it firmly in place. We use a vacuum process that ensures the epoxy resin is uniformly distributed. This unique fixing method is an important part of the patent.   I am very pleased with the result.
