In my prior role here at Teladoc Health, I used to talk with hospital/health systems about Mental Health support for their employees and why it was so vital, particularly for clinicians. I used my own experiences in pediatric critical care to drive the conversation of what nurses witness and carry with them after a 12 hour shift. The statistics are staggering! Nurses are 18% more likely to die by suicide then the general population. ✅ We need to do better in supporting our clinicians and providers. ✅ We need to make mental health a priority in conversations ✅ We need to remove the stigma Mental Health IS HEALTH #mentalhealthsupport #teamteladoc #mentalhealthishealth #suicideprevention
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. According to the CDC, nurses are estimated to be 18% more likely to die by suicide than the general population. As nurses, you take care of everyone, but most of all you have to take care of yourself. If you or someone you know need help, please call/text 988. ✨ Nurses, it’s time we talk about boundaries ✨ For so long, we've been taught that being a nurse means giving all of ourselves—our energy, our time, our hearts. But in the process, we forget the most important thing: taking care of ourselves. Setting boundaries doesn't mean you care less. It means you care enough to protect your own well-being so you can continue to show up as the amazing nurse you are! Whether it’s saying “no” to an extra shift, protecting your mental health, or stepping back to recharge—boundaries are essential for survival in this profession. 💬 What boundaries have you set to protect yourself from burnout? Let’s share our stories and support each other as we navigate this journey together. Remember, setting boundaries is a form of self-care, and you deserve it. We can’t pour from an empty cup. Let’s refill ours, one healthy boundary at a time. #NurseBoundaries #BurnoutPrevention #SelfCareForNurses #NurseCommunity #ProtectYourEnergy #NurseWellness

Feeling exhausted and undervalued, I can't help but express the toll nurse burnout has taken on my life. The sacrifices made for a job shouldn't cost my well-being and time with family. It's crucial for higher-ups to acknowledge and appreciate their staff, ensuring our mental health is a priority. To fellow nurses: remember, self-care is non-negotiable. Take time for yourselves, because only we can truly prioritize our well-being. #NurseBurnout #SelfCare #AppreciationNeeded
