Thoughts Thursday: Navigating the Challenges of Finding Caregivers 🤝🏽🏙️ One of the ongoing challenges I face is finding caregivers who are willing to travel, especially to places like NYC. While I'm grateful for the opportunities my PR manager, Becca, has been providing me with access to exciting events in the city, the struggle to find suitable caregivers often holds me back. It's a situation that many in the disabled community can relate to. The shortage of caregivers and the financial burden of hiring privately are significant barriers to independence and participation in social activities. Let's start a conversation: How can we address the caregiver shortage and make caregiving more accessible and appealing as a profession? What support systems would you like to see in place to help those who need caregivers lead more fulfilling lives?

2moI thank all of you for what you're doing for the kids! I too was one of those kids back in 1946-1956, and spent many hours on those steps behind you along with (60) others. The entire staff at that time was (12) people! You heard it right-(12) people.. In my (10) years there, I learned 'right-from wrong,' the value of hard work and how to get along with people. I was FORTUNATE to have lived there. Thanks again for what you're doing! Joe Dietz Proud 'Home Kid'-1946-1956
