I've been following NVIDIA's CES 2025 announcements with great interest. As a current RTX 4070 user, I'm particularly intrigued by the technical specifications of the upcoming RTX 50 series. The new Blackwell architecture represents a significant advancement in GPU technology, particularly in its approach to neural processing. My experience with the 4070's AI capabilities has been strong, but the architectural improvements in the 50 series suggest meaningful gains for professional workflows. What stands out to me is that the RTX 5070, positioned in the mid-range segment, reportedly outperforms the current flagship RTX 4090 - a testament to the technological leap in this new generation. For professionals working in video production and 3D visualization, these performance gains could translate to tangible workflow improvements. The release schedule shows the RTX 5090 launching January 30th at $1,999, with the 5080, 5070 Ti (featuring 16GB GDDR7), and 5070 following in March. The 5080's initial benchmarks suggest double the gaming performance of its predecessor. 🚀 Gaussian Splatting is getting better and better! 📷 Here is an example of quality achieved from 1466 frames in 4k resolution. 💻 I'm using Jawset Postshot for training GS on my RTX 6000 Ada gen GPU and then imported the ".psht" project directly inside Unreal Engine 5.5 with Postshot plugin and created a quick scene with some Quixel assets. In an interview with Quasar Zone, #NVIDIA discussed the future of #DLSS and Multi-Frame Generation (#MFG). A key highlight was MFG’s potential to generate up to 16 “fake” frames per real frame. However, NVIDIA is assessing whether such an increase is necessary. With the #GeForce RTX 50 series, DLSS 4 introduces MFG, replacing traditional #framegeneration and significantly boosting #FPS, particularly in #4K at #240Hz. Currently, MFG generates up to three additional frames, striking a balance between #performance and #visualquality. NVIDIA emphasized that any further advancements will depend on player preferences and the actual #gamingexperience improvements.
