Literally .. what are you supposed to do when looking for a job. LinkedIn is intended as a networking platform. If we can’t use the #opentowork feature, what IS the point of LinkedIn if not letting others know - we’re looking for a job.

"Don't use the 'Open to Work' banner because it makes you look thirsty for a job." Then how am I suppose to convey I am looking for work huh? Since you got your degrees and you know everything?

Career Coach | Solving the Swedish Talent Shortage | Advocate for International Professionals in Sweden | Founder of Intertalents in Sweden | PMI Winner Under 35 Changemaker Leadership Award 2024 | Consultant | Speaker
Summertime is here! 😎 And I'm taking a much-needed vacation (the American word for holiday 🙃), so my posts may be less frequent than normal. My availability will be limited this summer, and although I am still taking coaching calls and answering messages it will be slower than usual, and fewer spots will be available than normal. For those who are seeking extra resources during this time, I can recommend the following people: ⭐ Caroline Sandqvist - for career coaching for CV and interviews, salary negotiation, conflict resolution (including termination or layoff support) ⭐ Saaya Sorrells-Weatherford with Emigreat - for visa consultation and support, understanding policy changes, and compliance ⭐ Annamalai Ramanathan - for financial consultation regarding personal finance and taxes as well as business registration in Sweden ⭐ Daniella Sjöqvist with Fun Swedish - for online courses on how to learn Swedish language ⭐ Intertalents In Sweden - for my online course on how to Network Your Way to a Job in Sweden and also understand Swedish professional culture I will leave a link in the comments with a link to my website where you can find out how to book everyone listed above. Some other helpful information: 🔹 Remember that the hiring season is very slow during the summer in Sweden. Everyone is gone on vacation and most hiring processes are paused or very delayed. 🔹 Hiring will resume sometime in mid-August and ramp up full speed in September. The summertime is the best time to relax a bit as well as prepare for the next hiring season. 🔹 This year's Fall hiring season is forecasted to be more abundant in job opportunities and hiring budgets, based on a post I made a few weeks ago. Let's enjoy a little bit of optimism! Check the comments to see some links I will share about the hiring seasons in #Sweden. Now, it's time to go enjoy the summer! 🌞

Job Seeker PRO Tip… If you have pre-planned trips, vacations, doctor appointments or other planned activities, let your recruiter or hiring manager know upon accepting the official offer. This doesn’t disqualify you but rather helps you and the employer identify an appropriate and fair start date. The last thing you want is to start work in a new role and immediately ask for time off. I’ve found that employers feel this is a bad first impression, even if it’s truly not your intention. It may give them the wrong ideas and plants doubts about you. Don’t give employers any doubts that YOU aren’t the person for the role. Don’t mix my message, time off work is fair and good, just not on day two.

Summertime is filled with vacations, the end of the 2nd quarter, the beginning of the 3rd quarter, and all of the things in between. To be successful it takes time to plan, execute, and build your pipeline. There is a delicate balance but it can be done! I am planning for vacation next week with my kids and I am working hard this week to prepare, schedule meetings, prospect, and do all of the things so that I can fully disconnect for one week with my family. Preparation is key! #outofoffice #endof2ndquarter #3rdquarter #preparation

we must learn
You can be very popular at your workplace, but if you're laid off today, no one from work will call you after 2 weeks. Avoid gossip. Don't brag. Do your job. Get paid. Go home. Keep your private life to yourself. 🦾
