We had the incredible opportunity to be a part of the 6th cycle of the Zayed International Prize for the Environment, an event that not only celebrated global efforts toward sustainability but also honored those paving the way for a greener future. Did you know? According to the UN, the world needs to reduce global carbon emissions by 45% by 2030 to prevent irreversible damage to our planet. It’s events like the Zayed Prize that help drive the crucial conversations and actions needed to make this happen. Our role in managing and executing this event went beyond logistics. We were committed to creating an atmosphere that reflected the significance of the award, focusing on sustainability, attention to detail, and a sense of global community. Results that Inspire: -Global leaders and environmental experts in attendance. -Powerful, thought-provoking discussions about climate change, biodiversity, and sustainable development. -The event highlighted projects and individuals who are making real, measurable impacts on the world, underscoring the importance of recognizing environmental stewardship. -Prince Albert II of Monaco and Indian environment expert Dr Ashok Khosla were among the winners of the sixth Zayed International Prize for the Environment, worth $1 million in prize money At MICE, we believe events should leave a lasting impact, and the Zayed International Prize for the Environment is a testament to the kind of work we aim to be part of—events with purpose, heart, and a clear vision for the future. The #GSTC conference in Sweden is over and I have taken a lot of fresh impulses home with me. Many thanks to Randy Durband, Luigi Cabrini and Roi Ariel for a great conference! Where else do you have the opportunity to exchange ideas with over 500 like-minded people over two days? I particularly remember the controversial discussion on the EU #GreenClaimsDirective, which will not only be of great importance to consumers in the future, but will also have a significant impact on our sector. I have always been convinced that political frameworks are needed in order to make real progress with sustainability and the Green Claims Directive is one of them. Even if it comes with some challenges, those who are serious about sustainability will emerge stronger. Who this will be in the end remains to be seen. The Swedes would probably say that the winner takes it all....
