Quotes for Saatchi Gallery   It’s feels great to be presenting my work at the Saatchi Gallery in London for the first time. During my time Royal College of Art, I tested out many ideas and concepts, but never completed any work, which is the nature learning at the RCA. Since graduating and during lockdown I have developed the concepts further and brought much of the work to a natural conclusion in some ways, but in many ways, it is just the start. I look forward to sharing my work with the visitors of Saatchi Gallery and expanding on the pressing conversation of contemporary racial politics and migration. ‘Through extensive research of critical thinkers on race politics new and old, I have developed a visual practice, which understands the false narrative of the construction of ‘Race’ as a concept, which defines us beyond the notion of homo sapiens. But here lies the rub, society; Black and White et al people have got so intrenched with the notion that there are different races, it is difficult to talk about ethnicity without referring to race. So here I am, locked into narrative of contemporary racial politics, knowing full well it is lie, based on bias and discrimination – which gets back to the metaphysical concept of the ‘chicken and egg’ in terms of racism developed the concept of race or the conceptual framework of race allowed racism free rein – enjoy the show!’ The Black Paintings (fear of Black consciousness) 1.60m x 1.35m Untitled (white man’s burden): Mixed media, 2021 – 2023, 2.00m (h) x 1.20m x 1.20m   Michael Forbes
