Product Manager for Cost Clarity at Arcadis

I had a very stimulating day at the online RICS Global Construction and Infrastructure Conference today. I want to share a big thank you to all of those who spoke and all those involved in organising it. It covered a number of the key topics facing our industry, from supply chains, through global construction economics, and digital tools to sustainability and pushing towards net zero carbon.   For those of you interested in more detail, some of my key take aways from the day were:   - That the industry drive for a more sustainable and lower carbon future can become our selling point for new generations: as a practical way to improve our world (as explained by my fellow Arcadian Steve Armstrong) - The importance of investing in transformation when digitising our businesses: it's not just about purchasing the best software. - The crucial role that risk and financing have in helping us to adapt to climate change, and the importance of supporting discussions on adaptation at feasibility stage. - The imperative to move to low carbon, nature based solutions for providing the climate resilient infrastructure we need - Continuing to improve our ability as an industry to connect data across disciplines and services to support better decision making.  - The need to get the right supply chain in place in response to the challenge of skilled labour shortages, as headlined in Arcadis' International Construction Costs report (https://lnkd.in/e9jrAAf8)
