https://lnkd.in/gZPSBKfH As a survivor, I just want to keep it real and let you in on an important truth. There are these tiny barriers that keep stopping me/us. What survivors have to remember is that all money is not good money. we may have been bound in chains, brainwashed, or in servitude at Helmsley Palace, but there was something we didn't have to worry about, money ,somebody else took on that role. that was their role and we knew ours. it takes a long time to heal from some things. and then we come into the world and the world thinks we should understand the rules it plays by. Ok. What the world says about getting a job, school or any other naturally helping option, most of us just can't seem to grasp. it takes money to live. It's so tempting to go back the old ways, they seem much easier. Most find out that's poisonous thinking, Especially when it costs you more than you ever bargained for. You see, eventually (with help) we understand our worth. What we do to get our money is part of a very sensitive and intricate process of who we are becoming. enslaved we had money, at least we didn't have to worry about money, whether it be from loving a pimp, training from childhood or even natural survival (especially when they get you hooked to drugs to keep you), was not worth it! Financially stable I would breeze right through these small yet almost impossible barriers, in fact my/our barriers seem so small and insignificant, many would scoff (and do), but they're real and survivors face them every day, especially when they finally get to the point where they're going to clean up their side of the street. What a job! After being a spiritual and physical wreck, that side of the street is at best unbearable to the owner let alone a password by. This is why I'm so passionate about programs that sound *great on paper*.. that's about all they're worth, a damn piece of paper. I'm sick of nonprofits making money from our demise. That is happening. Bet your (donating) bottom dollar! Anywho, like this song says, you got to go through it to get to it. May every survivor of human trafficking get to the point where they start cleaning up their messes. never underestimate the strength of the human spirit. Never. MVP

Am I missing something?/about a week ago I was kicked out of Van Buren women's shelter. I was waiting for an extension on my section 8 so I could receive help with leasing an apartment. the reason I had to leave is ridiculous.. but rules are rules! they put my stuff in trash bags (minus half) and I was told to leave that very moment. where to? the streets of course! no other shelters available! same old story. seriously same old story. did I beg and tell them that this was a horrible idea as I'm a survivor of human trafficking? I did. compassion investigation anything? Nope. Rules are rules! just following orders ma'am. I know nothing (that German guy on that show who's name escapes me). I've been out here about a week (seems a lot longer). I found a house with other girls who no doubt came here with trash bags of belongings (if they were lucky). someone eles comes in who is not homeless but has a lot of money, he makes the rules here. Rules is rules! same old story different entity. I have to come to myself and realize how far beyond the bullsh!*I am, especially concerned for the health and well-being of the others (one Cuban male included). I believe that they are where I was many many years ago. modern day story of the Good Samaritan with a lot of twists. telling you all this because I don't trust the police in this neighborhood for good reason and I cannot get anyone to take me seriously at the homeless coalition to shelters or any other place. frankly we are promoting human trafficking. if I can find this place in a few days surely it's no secret. we (society at Large) are causing PTSD in people's lives. rules are not meant to help not hurt. Don't put on paper more rules to induce failures for human beings, real life people! this is real life. I hope my story can unfold in a lovely way as I also hope that the others around me who need help will also. this is where I say I'm busted and disgusted. you should be too. they say you can't take on City Hall, what about huge nonprofits? we'll see. God can do anything and he can use anyone.I'm rooting my faith in this. sincerely, MVP coming to you live from the School of art Knox University. it's an election year and that can be good or bad.
