A little over three years ago, I discovered the world of recruiting. With only a heart for people, a laptop, and a phone-line......we were in business. 😄 I really did not know what I was doing and felt like a little fish in a big pond at times. But my pastor always says "You cannot grow if you stay in your comfort zone". My wife and I started Pillar Staffing Solutions with the simple desire to help people find jobs. We wanted people to be able to be a Pillar in their workplaces, families, and communities; we wanted to assist in providing tools and resources for people to impact this world in a positive way. Who knew that simply trying to meet needs would turn into a full time career. Only through Jesus did we make it through! 🙏🏾 Fast forward to today, we've conducted thousands of interviews, reviewed thousands of resumes, and have staffed/placed 100's of talented individuals. There's a prevailing sentiment that reaching out directly makes an applicant appear desperate or intrusive. Yet, how can one not feel a sense of urgency after months of job hunting, with familial and financial responsibilities? I firmly believe that the act of reaching out independently should not diminish the value, skills, or knowledge of a candidate. In fact, it's an endeavor to stand out amidst a sea of CVs, a proactive approach in challenging times. On this note, I'd like to echo an observation shared by others navigating similar paths.
