When beginning a new consulting project anywhere, particularly international work, before doing any test-fit plans or designs, I always look at the floor plate for safety and egress compliance first. It is amazing to me how many issues you find...sometimes even in new construction. The below image was a recent example. Fortunately, we are (now) getting this floor into compliance before continuing to discuss a lease agreement. #interiordesign #projectmanagement #commercialrealestate #corporateinteriors #Facilitiesmanagement #floorplan #officeinteriors #interiorarchitecture #workplacedesign #officedesign #spaceplanning #workplacesolutions #workspace #officespaces #furnitureplanning #officefurniture #testfitplans #occupancystrategy #occupancymetrics #consultantcoordination #AV #Security #IT #networks #constructionadministration #NYC #Connecticut #consultingservices
While the Landlord tells the tenant, "it's not an issue; it's grandfathered in." Well that's not necessarily true nor does it mean that it is safe. Happens often enough that you have to check. Good on you.

9moCouldn't agree more. Code/egress compliance seems to be optional for some. : )
