One of the toughest challenges in preconstruction is navigating the unknown. Whether it’s incomplete surveys, outdated site information, or unforeseen conditions, these gaps can lead to costly delays and rework once the project is underway. That’s why leveraging technology, like 2D and 3D drone mapping, is a game-changer for the construction industry. Drone maps provide high-resolution aerial views and accurate topographical data, offering critical insights into site conditions, elevations, and potential hazards, long before the first shovel hits the ground. This information empowers teams to plan more effectively, mitigate risks, and make data-driven decisions that save time and money. In today’s fast-paced construction landscape, having the right tools early on can mean the difference between a smooth project and unexpected setbacks. #preconstruction #precon #construction #constructiontech #dronetechnology #topography #photogrammetry #mapping #innovation #airmatix #3dmap #orthomosaic #

Contouring, also known as contour surveying, involves identifying and fixing the height or elevation of various land points in a horizontal position.Check out this impressive contour lines project delivered by our Earth On Mapping Consulting team. The video showcases the transformation from raw to processed data, with 1m contours used in an intertidal zone. 🏖 Contact us at sales@earthonmapping.com for collaboration opportunities. #contouring #contoursurveying #mapping #photogrammetry #LiDAR #GIS #BIM #parcelmapping #Roadmapping #topographicmapping #aerialimages, #aerialtriangulation, #blockadjustment #3D #featureextraction #digitalmapcreation, #3Dmodeling, #bathymetry #geospatial #contour
For such a challenging stretch of water, our Earth On Mapping Consulting team had leveraged all of our expertise in the procedures that accompany #aerial #LiDAR #bathymetry (ALB), as the project required it to be plugged into multi-beam echo sounding at the 1m #contours throughout the intertidal zone. Here are few lines where you can find out approximately the perks of #contouring:- #Contoursurveying is the process of #mapping out a piece of land's form, #dimensions, and #features, #ranging which frequently appears by #contour lines integrating #adjacent-points of equivalent elevation. Happy Friday! Here at Foresite it wouldn't be unfair to accuse us of nerding out over Surveying tech. On one particularly geeky day we set ourselves the challenge of recreating one of Guernsey's historic loophole towers and its associated cannon battery. Now creating a digital representation of a place or building isn't that uncommon, it's used in video games and movies all the time. But we were looking to go one step further, could we create something that had a photorealistic appearance (for the tourists) whilst having survey levels of geometric accuracy (for the engineers). LiDAR handled the heavy lifting, capturing every stone and crevice with millimetre accuracy, photogrammetry gave the whole thing a lovely visual polish whilst RTK GPS georeferenced the model to within millimetres of its real world location. We gave the whole thing a little stir in our well tested workflow and…. the result? A model that’s accurate enough for engineers and pretty enough for, well, everyone else. Oh and it's aligned to Guernsey Grid co-ordinates for good measure! Feel free to explore the tower on our website (link below)—it’s the closest you’ll get to time travel without a flux capacitor. 🌍🔗 https://lnkd.in/eSU_xppT

Zero Gravity Civil Tech's drone Photogrammetry team wrapped up a large project for a surveyor in CA yesterday. The drone data will be used as a supplement to the conventional design survey our client is completing. In addition to providing an orthophoto, we will be drafting the topo survey from our client's conventional survey data, which includes planimetrics, a TIN surface, and annotation. Stay tuned!

In the world of mapping and surveying, precision is key. But how do you know which tool is best suited for your project? Let's break it down. PixElement offers LiDAR + Photogrammetry modeling as well as Photogrammetry only modeling. When your goal is to capture precise elevation data, LiDAR is the way to go. Its ability to penetrate vegetation and detect ground features makes it perfect for terrain mapping, urban planning and forestry. Adding photogrammetry photos in combination with LiDAR is the best way to get the most accurate and detailed 3D models. Photogrammetry, on the other hand, relies on high-resolution images captured from aerial platforms to create detailed 3D models. It excels in capturing intricate surface details and is ideal for applications like infrastructure inspection, archaeological mapping, and environmental monitoring. Ultimately, the choice between LiDAR and Photogrammetry depends on your project requirements and budget constraints. At PixElement, we offer both options, ensuring you have the flexibility to select the right tool for the job. Reach out to us today to learn more about how we can optimize your mapping and surveying projects! #LiDAR #Photogrammetry #Mapping #Surveying #PixElement
