Decarbonising the harbour cities of the world

The maritime #decarbonisation revolution is about much more than just electrifying yesterday’s boats. Its great to hear other voices joining EV Maritime in highlighting the importance of #efficiency and the many facets this takes, from reducing weight and optimising hydrodynamics to utilising intelligent data systems to inform operations. This short article by JAMIE MARLEY for Electric & Hybrid Marine Technology International touches on several of these topics. https://lnkd.in/gyghj2_b

Michael, you are one of the handful of people in the world who truly gets marine electrification and I am grateful to have learned from you through our conversations. I believe it is an all of the above approach as we can't replace all existing vessels with new vessels, but on the other hand, some vessels are so inefficient through the water, it is less impact on our planet to build a new, more efficent and electric one.

Insightful. Too many are simply using a "tried and tested" design based on conventional ICE, and not looking at a radical, technically advanced design to make efficiency gains. Keep flying the flag!
