Happy Valentines Day for those that celebrate! For my lovely and patient wife of 27 years, flowers from the best shop in the 905 (at least!) Iwona ( Yvonne ) Borys Euroflowers, red velvet cake from Buddy Valastro's Carlo's Bakery Canada in Port Credit, and a fine bottle of Château de Beaucastel from the Chateuneuf-du-pape wine region (remember that tour Jeff McKay, LL.B. & Brian!!) with great service at my local George Soleas's LCBO. According to Diane J. Brisebois's Retail Council of Canada and Caddle in their recent 2024 Valentine's survey, the percentage of Canadians who plan to celebrate Valentines Day in 2024 is lower, with 39% (vs 48% in 2023) of Canadians planning to celebrate Valentine’s Day in some way in 2024. 83% of those who plan to spend money to treat their loved ones, plan to spend the same or more compared to last year, with 51% planning to spend more than $50. Shopping in-person for Valentine’s is mentioned by 77.5% as being the preferred way for making Valentines’ purchases in 2024. #tre #retail #valentinesdaygift
