McLaren Construction has set up a new Yorkshire & North East division, based out of Leeds. McLaren Construction has recruited former ISG regional director Andrew Beaumont to head its new Yorkshire & North East division. Joining Beaumont to run McLaren’s new division are regional commercial director David Faulkner, also from ISG, and regional pre-construction director Richard Harding, formerly of Morgan Sindall. This becomes McLaren Construction’s sixth division, alongside: London & South, Midlands & North, Regeneration, Construction Management & Specialist Projects, and International. https://lnkd.in/g5fK9upu

Senior level move - Harding leaves Sir Robert McAlpine for McLaren Construction Group Glen Harding has joined McLaren Construction Group as commercial director of the construction management and specialist projects division. A chartered surveyor with 38 years’ experience with several Tier 1 contractors, Harding was previously commercial director at Sir Robert McAlpine where he was responsible for the business’s commercial offices contracts delivered across the UK. Harding’s recent projects have included the Cleveland Clinic in Grosvenor Place and the redevelopment of the St Pancras Hotel, both in London. McLaren’s construction management and specialist projects team is a new division focusing on design management and collaborating with clients and design teams to minimise the risk of disruption and changes during construction. Vince Lydon, managing director for construction management and specialist projects, said: "Glen brings a wealth of experience in construction management delivery, which is exactly what we’re looking for to strengthen this capability at McLaren and respond to client demand to effectively manage risk on construction projects. Construction management is a distinctive way of delivering large scale projects. Skanska has won two contracts in the US worth $786m. One is to build a parking garage and other modernizing works at Boston’s Logan Airport, and the other is to build freight and express lanes on I-15 in California in a joint venture. Working for the Massachusetts Port Authority in Boston, Skanska’s $450m project includes building a parking garage for Logan International Airport’s Terminal E, measuring a minimum of 67,400sqm, with space for 5.000 vehicles and ground transportation on the lower-level.
