Digitally-infused Consumer & Shopper Marketing ◉ Relentlessly Curious, yet Action-Oriented ◉ Strategic Advisor

Great way to kick off the day at the Organic Produce Summit with a fun panel discussing whether the industry is effectively navigating product attributes and claims. and discuss how it could better articulate the advantages of organic produce. What do you think? Are we informing or confusing? #Retailing #Organic #Produce #Grocery #ShopperMarkering #Fresh #FoodMarketing #Marketing

I think there are some super educated shoppers on this subject. But I think that’s a smaller segment than the shoppers that probably know organic is better for them but aren’t sure what all goes into making something “organic”. A QR code on signage / product that leads to an educational, short video would be super helpful I think!

It was a blast to be on the panel together. As I said this morning, if you’re going to market your certifications and labels to your customers, you need a well thought out strategy. Equifruit is a prime example of innovation in sustainability messaging and our #BananaBadass entourage are loving it.

It was a great discussion and I’ve heard a lot of good feedback. The dialogue led to consensus that there’s too much confusion and not enough inspiration on produce packaging labels. Across the show floor there was a lot of “we’ve got some work to do here” Thanks for joining the panel Michael!

This is a great thread! There's so much content out there that consumers have trouble determining what to read and what to believe. As others have said, a communication/marketing strategy is crucial, and don't forget that many consumers don't know what organic really means, so education is important.
