Robin DiAngelo, Ph.D. is cohosting with Esther A. Armah - CIRCLE OF WILLINGNESS: Emotional Justice for White Women is a call in to white women with this LinkedIn Live dialogue on Wednesday October 23rd at 12pmEST. It is crucial that each demographic do their own emotional work to dismantle oppressive systems that entrench harm – even when they affirm their commitment to change or healing or progressive agendas. None of those replace the actual foundation for sustaining harm – that’s why white women are the dismantlers who must do their own emotional work. That’s the call and the focus of the Emotional Justice framework created by Esther Armah, and highlighted in her best-selling book: EMOTIONAL JUSTICE: A Roadmap for Racial Healing, in which one of the two forewords is written by Robin DiAngelo. What does it mean to do your own emotional work? What does it mean to engage the three points of courage, convenience and comfort – and choose courage? What does it look like to do that emotional work in a time fraught with division and destruction? Join this LinkedIn live dialogue as we engage with these crucial issues. You must register. 80% of women still die unfulfilled. Here’s how we can reduce this figure; Every woman is born a baby gurl. Regardless of her place of birth. As she grows up, she’s taught different things ↳ Her place in society ↳ Her duties to her family ↳ Her obligations to her husband and in-laws. ↳ Her responsibility to her kids and grandkids. But barely any education on; ↳ Her duty ↳ Her obligation ↳ Her responsibility To herself. If she even so much as imagines it Society calls her selfish. But of course, we are here to change the status quo So what do we do? ➔ We build our personal brands! Let society see powerful women who want change. Next! We spread the change. We show the benefits of personal branding And we call women all around the world to partake. But the fact remains that Change begins with you! P.S. Have you started personal branding?

“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” – Jim Rohn Who you surround yourself with matters more than you think. The right people inspire you, challenge you, and hold you to a higher standard—even when you can’t see your own potential. These are the people who: 🌟 Celebrate your wins like they’re their own. 🌟 Push you to grow beyond your comfort zone. 🌟 Remind you who you are on the tough days. Recently, I got to celebrate the five women in my life who do all the above. In my group, there are three women entrepreneurs (like Nicolle Ketcham and Kim Endo); an artist who has several murals located throughout Laredo, Texas, and also advocates for human rights; and an ultramarathoner who every year sets distance personal records and doesn't quit when she enters the "pain cave," and she does all this training with two kids still in elementary school. When you look at your circle, do they reflect the person you’re striving to be? Are they setting the bar high and lifting you with them? Take a moment to appreciate those who make you better. They’re not just your support system—they’re a reflection of your values, ambitions, and dreams. #PersonalGrowth #BetterTogether

I had the chance of attending a remarkable event hosted by the National Women's Studies Association on October 1st, featuring Prisca Dorcas Mojíca Rodriguez in conversation with President Dr. Heidi R. Lewis. Their dialogue about "Tías and Primas: On Knowing and Loving the Women Who Raise Us" (2024) reminded me of the powerful narratives of Brown women and how society needs to extend imagination to Black and Brown women. Here are a few key insights that resonated with me: 🌱 Community Building: It’s not always easy, but building community and finding chosen family can be transformative. It is a reminder that we are in this together, we're going to keep each other alive and accountable. It won't be perfect, there's sure to be conflict, just like any family, but we have to be willing to grow, name our needs, and take up space. 📖 Connecting Theory to Experience: Academic theories often reflect our lived realities because our communities are at the focus of many studies, yet they can feel distant. Bringing these theories into dialogue with our communities helps us understand our experiences through a different perspective, they often provide us the language to articulate our struggles and contextualize our history. 🗯️ Working together: While we may not dismantle systemic issues in this lifetime, we should still push against them. It's vital to recognize the intersectional, transnational, and intergenerational aspects of our fight for justice. Too often, society overlooks the voices of Black and Brown women, we must commit to amplifying them. #NWSA #Feminism #Community #LatineVoices #TíasAndPrimas #Justice
