After 14 years + 2 days of marriage, here's my best advice: Find a partner who makes you a better person. From the beginning of our marriage, Judson's sense of adventure and endless encouragement led me down the most incredible path. Here's a list of things I would have never done without him in my life: 1. Complete 2 sprint triathlons 2. Overcome my fear of open-water swimming (discovered this while training for #1 😂 ) 3. Complete a Century Ride 4. Camp in a tent for more than 1 night 5. Leave my corporate job after 13 years 6. Eat Chick-fil-A more than once a week 7. Jump off a cliff into a waterfall 8. Change thousands of dirty diapers for 3 kids 9. Learn the joy of a good whiteboard session 10. Launch my own business 11. Develop a personal relationship with God Can't wait to see what we accomplish in the next 14! 😁 #advice

It's flown and been the most stressful year of my life. Even more stressful than COVID, Zoom schooling, husband starting his business, dying parent, switching schools a third time. There is nothing like the stress of doing your own thing and putting yourself out there. Your name. Your reputation. And decimating your family's income while working 7 days a week. It's soul crushing at times. And then it's joyous an hour later. It's psychotic. And of course I wouldn't change it for the world. We've helped so many women already. Cried with them. Laughed together. We know about their stress at work. We've helped them get their resumes together. Found them marital counseling. Psychologists for their kids. Someone to de-clutter their homes. Assisted living for dad. Squeezed them in for a faster doctors appointment due to a scare. We know their struggles and their anxiety. And we know they're just like us. We've also helped them throw countless birthday parties. Graduation parties. Go on anniversary trips. Plan travel to see Taylor Swift in concert with their daughters. Send food to a sick friend. Surprise friends with flowers. Book beach houses for their extended families. Get dog trainers for their new puppies. We've helped them make memories and celebrate this crazy thing called life. We've also helped them with the mundane. Meal planning. Laundry. Childcare. Tutors. Roof leaks. Faucet leaks. Door locks. Car repairs. The real un-sexy stuff of adulting that still has to get done even though you're stuck in a meeting. I've made lots of mistakes in the past year including one really big one that I'll forever carry forward with me as we grow this company. But you learn more from the mistakes than the successes especially when you are the one who personally made them. I'm sure there are many more I've made and just haven't realized it yet. Many more to come if I'm lucky enough to keep doing this. Thank you to those who have supported me this past year. Some publicly. Some privately. Some checking in on me by text. We are celebrating our 1st year 🎗 Here is what I wish I knew before starting Credit: at the beginning stage, your company will not have any credit. Therefore, it can be extremely hard to move freight, unless you already have a big driver base that trusts you. In many cases, you can offer the drivers payment before the delivery, and they will still refuse to book, because of lack of trust. Niche down: choose a small niche, and start doing research. Learn the common issues that shippers face in this specific niche. Come up with solutions to those issues. Focus on these solutions, when doing cold calls or sales in general. Overhead: As you start growing, you will get many calls and emails from companies offering services (tracking services, TMS, marketing, customer leads, business optimizations, credit improvements, etc.). Most of these services will have a binding contract, meaning you will not be able to cancel these services unless the contract ends (some can last up to 3 years). Think twice, before accepting any of these services, because most of your customers can switch to a competitor in any day. This can result in a situation of low cash flow and high overhead, potentially leading to bankruptcy.
