Michelle (Shellie) Farrell’s Post

As the school year comes to an end, I am preparing the FS1 students in Deira International School for their transition into FS2. This transition is different to any other school transition they will face as they grow up through the phases of school. This transition is their first one ever. It's their first time learning that they don't keep the same teacher as they progress to the next year. It is the first time they learn that their classroom will change, that the environment that they know and love will ultimately change to a different room with different resources. It's the first time that they will experience being split up and podded into groups ahead of their new class next year. All of these changes and uncertainties can be daunting for our 3 and 4 year olds to comprehend. So while us teachers and leaders find the end of year stressful, with preparing of evidence and packing up classrooms, remember that the little ones find it stressful too. Slow down and give them time to adjust and ask questions, and I am sure you'll be grateful for it too. #EYFS #SchoolTransition #Wellbeing #EndofAcademicYear
