"Just do it," they say. But uninformed decisions can be dangerous, especially for entrepreneurs. Uninformed decisions can kill ideas, passion, and capital. We don't need to be experts in everything or become pessimistic thinking we need to know it all to be successful. However, we do need to be aware of the areas where we're not experts and find alliances that help us. Finances are one of the most delicate aspects of a business, and one bad decision can lead to failure. I think Gabriel is touching on a fundamental aspect, which benefits not only the VC but also the entrepreneurs and companies that get funding. In term of deal flow and investment opportunities, the acceleration and VC investment industry is not just about pulling in top-notch entrepreneurs and cool startups. It is also about ramping up the deal flow. Many entrepreneurs feel more drawn to VCs with a good name because it feels like a sure bet for success, solid advice, and great connections. So, VCs with a known brand get to pick from the best investment options. It's like having the first pick in a treasure trove ;-) And I think long-lasting partnerships is a critical aspect that the brand supports. A solid brand in the VC world means a lot. It's not just about money, but also a promise to stick around for the long haul. A strong brand puts a VC firm in the spot as the perfect long-term partner. But for me the critical part comes around innovation. A strong VC leads with ideas, with innovation. This can open doors to giving talks, writing content that folks read, and helping shape what's next in the industry. For entrepreneurs, teaming up with a solid, well known VCs is golden. It's a chance to grow their business and stand out in a packed market. In short, a strong brand is a big deal. It's not just about the money. I completely agree with the post. This adds no real value to the startup ecosystem in my city, which I’m committed to protecting and promoting, from either a tech or business perspective. As investors, we should fund companies that drive real innovation and long-term value, not waste resources. When a CEO speaks poorly, it damages trust and weakens both the business and the startup environment. We need better leadership and integrity from the companies we invest in.

Qué flaco favor le hacen personajes como éste al emprendimiento de nuestro país. Está claro que es carnaza para los medios y para titulares virales, y que este supuesto emprendedor "millonario" lo aprovecha para ganar visibilidad (y a mi parecer mala publicidad para su Startup), pero ¿a qué precio? ¿Vale todo para que tú o tu Startup salgáis en los medios? Somos muchos los que llevamos años intentando visibilizar la importancia del emprendimiento para la economía, innovación y para el futuro de España, formando a las nuevas generaciones, pero al final prima sacar a un chaval de 20 años que dice barbaridades a diario en televisión o en prensa. Otras joyitas que suelta en su twitter oficial: "Goebbels tenía razón", "Se necesita una guerra en Europa (hablando de la inmigración)" o "el diablo está entre nosotros (hablando de los gays)". Me pregunto qué pensarán inversores suyos como Enisa con el emprendimiento innovador, Bcombinator, ESADE BAN/Esade Alumni, @Castiventures o IESE Business School. STOP MAKING STUPID PEOPLE FAMOUS

Understanding the technical and financial gaps experienced by small and medium-sized enterprises in Guatemala and the Central American region, which hinder access to investment and financing for their operation and growth, we join forces to attract resources, expertise, and technical specialization to support the takeoff and acceleration of entrepreneurship in rural and urban areas. Through expert and personalized services to mitigate the barriers that prevent access to investment and financing, both organizations hope to offer the Investment Readiness Program, created by GDA and powered by Swisscontact, aimed startups, small rural entrepreneurs, and cooperatives, in the early stages of launch and growth. "Our goal is to focus on underserved markets, where need and opportunity converge," says Patricia Funegra, Founder and CEO of GDA. "The Northern Central America region (Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala) offers huge opportunities for economic growth; however, there is a need to implement a new approach aimed at reducing and eliminating the gaps that prevent these groups from accessing the economic resources necessary to grow their businesses, create new jobs, innovate, and strengthen their economies." Solos vs acompañados de un mentor Hoy en Latam tenemos una gran ventaja, ya tenemos muchos expertos en tech y startups que ya han pasado por ese camino. El desafío es seguir fortaleciendo la red de redes y compartir ese conocimiento hacia la nueva generación de emprendedores. Soy de pensar que en Latam tenemos un talento único y podemos estar entre los primeros lugares del mundo. Tenemos que seguir ayudando y transfiriendo conocimiento. Por eso es muy importante que la nueva generación de emprendedores busquen y se apoyen en mentores que ya hayan pasado por ese camino para ahorrarse tiempo. El tiempo es oro en una startup y los esfuerzos se deben enfocar donde van a tener mayor valor y se debe ahorrar tiempo en pruebas donde otros ya han pasado por ahí.
