We have a problem, not sure how many people are in tune, but we lose about 40,000 lives per year nationally on our highways. And that stat is not something that we should just blow over. That stat should really make you feel something. Finding a way to do the thing that entrepreneurs want to do in that solve problems for people. This interconnected technology, I think is making strides from the public safety lens, I think in a lot of ways. And I think secondly, on the economic development front, the city is really interested in empowering entrepreneurs and startups. I was almost struck and killed by an ambulance on my way to work one day. And so we decided to look at how we could get emergency vehicles. Communicate with connected cars we learned that it wasn't just first responders that needed to connect with vehicles but it was intersections and needed to talk to vehicles vehicles I needed to talk to other vehicles so Hazel artist committed to solving a really difficult challenge on the road today, which is connectivity. We're focused on solving that problem with digital alerts Now you're connecting digital and physical infrastructure to enhance efficiencies for users. We wanted to have tonight to be able to bring this community together to announce working with the. City of Dearborn, state of Michigan at three working with the Detroit Fire Department. They're going to be equipping their responders and roadside workers with digital alerting and also then having automotive be able to understand it's not just a tech company but it's a safety company. Without tonight it's really hard to be able to bring these ecosystems together and just have a conversation about safety, what it means to truly connect our roadways. We're really celebrating the collaboration of the new lab has been able to help us foster here they're going to be. On the streets, in fire trucks and ambulances and school buses, they're going to be working with the state Department of Transportation to make sure roadside workers are safer. And startups like Hostler are coming here to be able to deploy and scale. I think it's important we're able to tell people who are really betting everything that when you come to Detroit, you are not alone. Let's dance off these opportunities.
