Micro surgical robots with extreme dexterity! 👉 👈 Anything that can be done to give surgeons more dexterity - especially when working inside the body - is a good thing. That's were Vicarious Surgical Inc. comes in. They have developed a tele-operated micro-robot solution that can be inserted into the body with an incision less than 2cm in length. This includes two arms and a camera! The camera can see a full 360 degrees and each arm has nine degrees of freedom, giving the surgeon unprecedented dexterity when working within a body cavity. Into my 3rd month with B. Braun Group and the training continues with a visit to Tuttlingen, and some further hands on with the Aesculap Aeos Microscope.
