A new-age cure for Rectal Endometriosis: The Rule of M A heavy over dependence on resection and anastomosis to treat rectal endometriosis has proven to be incredibly taxing for patients, physically and emotionally. Mayflower’s Rule of M aims to change that. In this edition of Endometriosis Weekly we discuss how even intense involvement of the colon can be managed conservatively, revolutionising surgical outcomes. Hey connection, Today I want to share about my article "Radio frequency Ablation" #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #snsdesignthinking The procedure is similar to a needle biopsy, and involves inserting a needle-like probe into the body. Radiofrequency waves are sent out from the probe into the surrounding tissue, which causes the nearby cells to die. As these cells die, the immune system removes them, which causes an internal reaction and generally results in shrinkage of the nodule. To place the tip of the probe in the correct location, the health care provider uses ultrasound or other imaging technique. Radiofrequency ablation can take place in an office or outpatient setting and requires no general anesthesia. You may get medicine to help you relax for the procedure, as well as a numbing agent for the area of the skin where the probe is inserted. Most people undergoing radiofrequency ablation can go home the same day as their treatment and can return to their normal activities within 24 hours.

Neuro-Endovascular Surgery | Vascular Neurology | Neurocritical Care | Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center
Flow diversion technology with vessel reconstruction has truly revolutionized treatment of cerebrovascular disease and aneurysms. One of such challenging conditions being dissecting aneurysms, which pose a significant higher risk of intraoperative and spontaneous rupture due to being much more fragile. Sharing a recent case of a young patient presenting with a sentinel thunderclap headache , no blood on CT, CTA demonstrated these dysplastic appearing likely dissecting aneurysms of the fusiform aneurysmal P2 segment of the posterior cerebral artery portending a high risk of imminent rupture. No great open surgical options with high chances of having to sacrifice the PCA, leading to visual field deficits. We opted for endovascular treatment, she was successfully treated using a Pipeline Vantage Medtronic Neurovascular (off label) and discharged home in a few days, doing great on 30day post op followup. The smaller profile 021 catheters helped navigate this tortuous PCA with minimal disruption to the anatomy. The next frontiers in flow diversion are certainly smaller profile and distal flow diversion with data beginning to prove high rates of safety and vessel reconstruction.
