Radically Rethinking Endoscopic Retraction - Introducing REVEEL Endoscopic Liver Retractor. Our latest addition to the Microline product portfolio. Strong - Highly robust, its strength derives from its integral stainless steel I-Beam and nickel titanium, super elastic arms. Design verification testing with 3 kg (6.6 lbs.) load. Excellent Visualization - Shaped for an unobstructed view, REVEEL offers exceptional exposure of the operating site and is optimized for large, fatty livers. The heart shape and rigid central I-beam enables the liver to be well-mobilized and prevents the left lobe from flopping into the field of view. Fast Retraction - Fast and easy to use: no excessive manipulation to position the retractor, no tedious actuation screws. Simply target, actuate, mobilize, retract, and clamp in place using a industry standard instrument clamp. Heavy, floppy livers retracted in seconds. Interested in learning more? 🦴 **Management of a Complex Finger Fracture** 🦴 by (SUZUKI Frame) Named after its inventor, Yasushi Suzuki, who first introduced it in 1994, the Suzuki frame has proven to be an optimal surgical treatment option, especially for complex intra-articular fractures like this one. A 27 years old male patient presented with a challenging injury—a left hand middle finger base of middle phalanx fracture, located at the volar base, caused by hyperextension injury. This type of injury often involves an avulsion of the volar plate, making it a difficult case to manage. In this instance, I utilized the **Suzuki frame**, a remarkable medical device that provides stability and promotes early joint mobilization, crucial for the healing process of proximal IP joint fractures. The Suzuki frame uses traction generated by rubber bands placed between two metal Kirschner wires inserted into the bone on either side of the fracture. This method not only stabilizes the joint but also allows for distraction at the fracture site, facilitating proper alignment and recovery. 🔍 Every case is unique, and the choice of treatment plays a crucial role in the patient's recovery journey. Proud to be part of a field where innovation meets patient care. #Orthopedic_Surgery #Trauma #HandSurgery #SuzukiFrame #HealthcareInnovation #PatientCare

High myopia, thin corneas and children! This patient -8.0 D myopic OU. CCT 469 um OD and 470 OS. CTL intolerant. Normal SLE, computerised topography, tomography, and OCT epithelial thickness mapping. She was very motivated to become emmetropic as feels vulnerable in spectacles getting up at night for young children who swipe her glasses during the day! Options: SMILE Pro or LASIK? - corneas too. Clear lens extraction? - risk of retinal detachment would be increased up to fourfold and then pseudophakic presbyopia to be managed. Solution: bilateral phakic IOLs. UCVA now 6/6 0/-0.50 x 150 OD and +0.50 / -0.75 x 130 OS. Patient now very happy with her outcome. Will continue to monitor endothelial cell count 6 monthly and then annually along with IOP and lens #RefractiveSurgery #lasereyesurgery #lasikcandidate #lasiksurgery #lasiksurgeon #smileeyesurgery #Vision #Eyes #Lasik #ContactLens #Sports #Freedom #EyeSurgery #Surgery #Myopia #Astigmatism #Ophthalmologist #Optometrist #Glasses #Independence #phakic IOL #ICL

Mitral valve replacement with a mechanical bileaflet heart valve is a complex surgical procedure that is typically performed to repair or replace a damaged or malfunctioning mitral valve. The mitral valve is one of the four valves in the heart that help to keep blood flowing in the right direction. It is located between the left atrium and the left ventricle. #cardiacsurgery #PACTVS #onpumpsurgery #perfusion #Openheartsurgery #anticoagulants

A relatively straightforward technique for the removal of persistent #perfluorocarbon liquid (PFCL) bubbles beneath the fovea following #vitrectomy is available. When PFCL bubbles remain beneath the fovea for an extended period, they tend to become encapsulated and firmly attach to the fovea, resulting in metamorphopsia and significant discomfort for the patient. In such cases, the PFCL bubbles can be effectively removed by utilizing a 41G needle connected to an active extrude system. To ensure the success of the procedure, intraoperative optical coherence tomography (#OCT) can be employed to verify and validate the removal process. At the same operation internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling is performed and face-down positioning for three days post-surgery is recommended to avoid macular hole. It is advisable to avoid standard subretinal injection of air bubbles as a means to displace the PFCL bubbles, as this can potentially lead to macular detachment and visual impairment.
