After a few months of using Microsoft 365 Copilot to help me get more done, I wanted to share a few perspectives on my use of Copilot and a couple of resources to help you on your own Copilot journey.
My first learning is invest time on how to get the best out of M365 Copilot - its not magically going to help you out of the box. You need to learn how and where to best apply it. The magic does then happen. A small investment of time pays huge returns!
The things I am finding most useful.
1. Writing emails - this is game changer for productivity. I can put together a really concise, professionally written email on a topic in 2 or 3 minutes where it may have taken me 15 to 20 mins in the past of drafting & correcting to get to a great product. Game changer!!
2. Recap meetings, create notes and action items from meetings. Core to the Copilot experience and super helpful and a time slasher!!
3. Summarise my email inbox for me. If I've been out all-day getting copilot to tell me what I missed. Amazing!
4. Summarising long documents. I needed a summary of a clients 140 page strategic plan from their website. 2 mins in Copilot! Blown away - another time slasher!!
5. Creating a PowerPoint presentation for a topic from scratch. Copilot gets you a really good outline - quickly. Like in 1 min!! You can then build from there.
What's next - I need to explore Excel and what Copilot can do for me there. Thats exciting as that could be a game changer.
If you are getting started on your Copilot journey two good places to start are the links below - overall invest some time to learn how to get the most out of Copilot. The ROI will be huge.
