Organ transplants are an economic issue. Too many New Zealanders go to the grave with valuable resources needed by others. As this article points out, our 2021 report Transforming Lives and Saving Money showed that as expensive as transplants are, they can still be cost-saving. But funding needs to be directed to support coordination and training, as well as procedures, and for deceased donation, potentially a different approach at a system level. https://lnkd.in/g4Bzfd3P
