How do you start a community outreach program? Starting a Community Outreach Program involves several key steps to ensure it meets the needs of the community effectively. Begin by identifying the specific issue or cause your program aims to address, such as education, health, environment, or social services. Conduct thorough research to understand community demographics, existing resources, and potential partnerships. Next, establish clear goals and objectives for your Community Outreach Program. Define the target audience or beneficiaries and determine the scope of services or activities you plan to offer. Develop a mission statement that reflects the program's purpose and values. Engage stakeholders and community members early on to gather input, build support, and foster collaboration. Seek partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and government agencies that can provide resources, expertise, or funding. Create a detailed action plan outlining timelines, roles and responsibilities, budget considerations, and evaluation methods to measure the program's impact and success. Launch the program with an outreach strategy that includes promotional materials, events, and community engagement activities to raise awareness and attract participants. Regularly evaluate and adapt the Community Outreach Program based on feedback and outcomes to ensure it remains relevant and beneficial to the community it serves. https://lnkd.in/dTx_scnn . . . #CommunityOutreach #CommunityEngagement #SocialImpact #CommunitySupport #LocalPartnerships #CommunityDevelopment #CommunityService #EmpowerCommunities #Nonprofit #CommunityHealth #CommunityEducation #SocialServices #VolunteerProgram #CommunityWellness #CommunityGrowth #BuildingCommunity #CommunityGoals #CommunityMission #OutreachProgram #CommunityInitiative

This is what community engagement looks like. I go to community events, stand on my soapbox, and talk about the importance of clinical trial participation. This is my community that I am serving. Nurture people centered programs and partnerships that measurably strengthen and improve quality of life | 9+ years in partnership & program management rooted in equity, impact, systems change, & strategic learning.
Are you based in or connected to Central/East Harlem, Lower East Side/Chinatown, Midtown West/Hell’s Kitchen/Chelsea, or Washington Heights/Inwood neighborhoods? On your way to work or home, have you ever had someone share verbally or in writing that they are in need of housing or that they are looking to secure a meal, clothes, or a job? If you've ever wondered how to make a difference, here's your chance! The Bridge, a non-profit offering comprehensive services, has launched the Neighborhood Navigator Program. This program utilizes a peer-based model to establish trusting relationships with individuals regularly residing or spending time on the streets. Its aim is to help individuals achieve their goals and access essential services such as behavioral health care, primary healthcare, and housing. Immediate needs like a listening ear, food, blankets, fentanyl test strips, and others are also addressed. Additionally, the program focuses on resource coordination among partners and invites meaningful community engagement at the neighborhood level. Residents, businesses, or frequent visitors of the mentioned neighborhoods can contribute to this vital work. The program’s team plans monthly collaboration meetings to enhance community-based referrals, align resources, identify gaps, and assess neighborhood-level progress. If you’re interested in joining these meetings, please reach out to me. The Bridge is making this happen with support from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, our colleagues at CUNY ISLG, and several additional partners. There are a fair number of variables to navigate from respecting and centering personal agency, addressing bias, centering care of all involved all the way to reducing silos while applying rapid innovation to presented challenges. It’s amazing to see everyone come together towards shared goals. So, get in touch if you want to learn more and get plugged in.
