Sunshare conducted wind tunnel tests in collaboration with TÜV Rheinland to verify the ability of #SunshareRay, the world’s first custom balcony solar system, under dynamic loads. These tests simulated the performance of the modules and brackets in extreme weather conditions, and the results show that Sunshare Ray successfully passed a destructive test, withstanding wind speeds of up to 55 m/s (equivalent to a Category 16 super typhoon) from all directions. #Sunshare #SolarPower #Sustainability #Balkonkraftwerk

When Storm Eowyn (illustrated in this animation) struck Ireland and the UK, it left a significant impact. Peak wind gusts hit an incredible 183 kmh (113 mph) at Mace Head on Ireland’s exposed west coast before power outages cut off further data reporting. This beats the previous record gust (181 kmh / 112 mph) recorded at Fastnet Rock during ex-hurricane Ophelia in 2017. With nearly a third of Ireland’s population left without power, restoration efforts are still ongoing, involving significant cross-industry collaboration and tireless effort from field engineers (kudos to all involved).
