The journey to supply chain excellence has begun with an impactful start, as we concluded the first module of our EduRISE series on 4 April 2024. This initiative isn't merely a set of lectures; it's a gateway to mastering supply chain optimisation through a blend of theory and hands-on experience. A highlight of our programme was the networking lunch on the first day, fostering connections and discussions amongst participants and industry leaders. This event set the stage for a collaborative learning environment. Central to our success was the invaluable contribution of Mr Khoo Ngiap Seng, the Regional General Manager of YCH Group. His role transcended traditional facilitation, offering our trainees a unique glimpse into the complexities and dynamism of modern supply chain management. Under his mentorship, participants were immersed in a world where classroom concepts met real-world applications, especially through the lens of YCH Group's pioneering strategies in Singapore’s warehouse operations. The curriculum meticulously covered crucial areas, including the fundamentals of supply chain operations, efficiency metrics like flow time and utilisation rates, advanced process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and gap analysis against industry benchmarks. However, it was Mr. Khoo’s first-hand insights and case study discussions that truly enriched the learning experience, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. As we move forward with the EduRISE series, we are not just sharing knowledge; we are shaping the future leaders of the supply chain industry. Join us in this transformative journey, led by visionaries like Mr Khoo, as we collectively push the boundaries of what's possible in supply chain management. #EduRISE #SupplyChainExcellence #YCHGroup #TalentDevelopment

15th Sep night, I got invited to have round table discussions with SMU business school students about “ what are your passion for your work”! This interesting event started by inviting from linkedlin via Basil L. and took some time to identify to confirm to attend! The invitee is from Singapore Management University, Know-Thy-Major x Bondue Business Forum 2023 Committee, which is SMU flagship event organized by students in all level! I did enjoy the event and chats with Yong talents which to share my personal experience with industrial work and life to let them have a little sensing of the life in an MNC company. The students are quite active to ask various questions, e.g. from high tech to natural of business of automotive, towards sustainablility. More over, students are also asking lots of questions regarding to softskills, e.g. leadership, ppt, communication and stakeholder management. I hope that my sharing provides them a outlook for industry work and support them to find their own way in the future. Thanks again for the invites from Basil L. and hosting/accommodation by Veronica Lee I would like to thanks all members of organizing committee (who helps at 15th Sep, I cannot type all as they have 40+ committee members) and it is indeed another successful event for them! Finally, what are my passion for my work? “Enjoy the work which can make you happy every day as you need spend 1/3 of your whole working life to work.”

Action in Competition: the Mind of Creativity and Winning The mind of winning accelerated by creativity entails connectivity, excitement, deserving, physical and mental exercise, intimacy and skills, concentration, assembling and maximum energy use, journey to the front and get ahead, learning and adapting, acting in context, goal set, shared prominence. In school, business, office, media and international relation, group life and intimate friend I have been observing and living in the life of action in competition in which the mind of creatively and wining is prevailing. In essence, competition is for winning. Students compete for rank, business persons for sale, and players for fame. Wining is ownership. One competes to win. The standard set measures competition procedures and the goals lay down by competitors and finally achieved.

5S is a systematic methodology used to organise the workplace for efficiency, effectiveness, and safety. The five principles of 5S are: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, and Sustain. Here's a brief overview of what 5S can do for a business: Enhanced Safety: Implementing 5S promotes a safer work environment by removing hazards, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring clear visual controls. This contributes to accident prevention and employee well-being. Improved Efficiency: By organising and decluttering the workspace (Sort), arranging items systematically (Set in Order), and ensuring cleanliness (Shine), 5S helps streamline processes, reduce waste, and minimise unnecessary movement, leading to improved efficiency. Cost Reduction: Through better organisation and standardised processes (Standardise), businesses can reduce costs associated with excess inventory, wasted time searching for tools or materials, and unnecessary equipment downtime. Increased Productivity: 5S encourages employees to focus on value-adding activities by eliminating distractions and inefficiencies. Standardised procedures and a clean, organised workspace contribute to smoother operations and higher productivity levels. Cultural Transformation: Sustain, the fifth S of 5S, emphasises the importance of sustaining the improvements made. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee involvement, 5S can lead to long-term positive changes in mindset and behaviour throughout the organisation. Overall, 5S can significantly benefit a business by improving efficiency, enhancing safety, reducing costs, increasing productivity and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. My upcoming 2 hour workshop at the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce HQ in Ashford, Kent, is a great, interactive, first contact opportunity to learn about 5S. It would be great to see you there - registration details 👇 #continuousimprovement #business #improvement #opportunity #networking #opportunity #kentbusiness #Kent & Medway Local Skills Improvement Plan

Strategic Sales & Marketing Leader | Driving Growth, Developing People, and Making Construction Better
Would you believe me if I said that one session spent with horses could teach you more about your leadership style than days in lectures? Over the last few days, my experience at #OWPSingapore has been a rollercoaster of learning, laughing, and some serious lightbulb moments. I can barely believe we only have one day left. Coming into the program, my checklist was ambitious: get the inside track on AI and cybersecurity, crack the code on leading a top-performing team, and give my leadership style a major upgrade. It’s met these expectations and more, and one experience really stood out. One of the leadership labs I attended brought us all the way to Turf Club to interact with – you guessed it – horses! The interactive activities with horses were designed for us to look inward and reflect on our leadership styles and how we engage with situations that require us to step into unfamiliar territories. The horses responded to me in such a pure and direct way that I was able to discover the blind spots in how I show up as a team member and as a leader. Following that, we had an interactive session with a group of actors who shared useful tools, such as vocalization exercises and skits on real-life workplace situations to rediscover how to lead with confidence while remaining authentic to ourselves. Not only was it a great lesson on how to be in the moment, but it was also a reminder on how connecting with others is critical to get the most out of any interaction. Here are some of my favorite learnings from day 4 of OWP, in the form of quotes. Let me know in the comments which resonated with you! • “Sequence matters!” • “If you torture the data long enough, it will confess.” • “Frequency is more important than intensity.” • “What was said, what was heard, what was meant?” • “We are all trying to minimize anxiety.” • “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.” OWP is truly a journey that transforms you from the inside out, making you a better leader, a better communicator, and above all, a better human being. It sounds cheesy, but let’s all reach for the stars! Watch the highlights from OWP Day 4 here ▶️: https://lnkd.in/gSBBRXRx #OWPbyIMD #IMDInsights IMD
