Do you need a reliable heat pump to keep your high-rise apartment warm during winter? In response to the rising heat pump needs of 32 million high-rise residents across the U.S. and the trend in building electrification, Midea developed an easy-to-install & high-efficient window-type heat pump specifically designed to meet the year-round cooling & heating needs of high-rise residents. The Packaged Window Heat Pump (PWHP) is effortless to install and provides high energy efficiency with reliable operation in ultra-low temperatures with its innovative HVAC-performance EVI compressor technology. It can achieve 100% heating with a COP up to 2.0 at 5°F or -15°C while providing energy savings in addition to installation savings, as there’s no need for ducts or professional installers. To maximize room comfort throughout the year, the PWHP blocks outside noise and works quietly to provide long distance airflow, ample cooling, and cozy heating positions – comparable to split systems. Exploring how best practices developed in utility energy efficiency programs can accelerate the energy transition in broader markets.
Does this mean we can welcome the Heat Pump Water Heater to the mainstream? My favorite part of the piece is the recommendation to make a replacement plan before the old water heater fails. I love this, particularly, as part of a growing personal belief that interventionist strategies at equipment burnout are not scalable or a viable programmatic design element. Cheers to the Times for getting more heat pump water heaters into homes. https://lnkd.in/eEdppz5N

Advantages of Converting to a Combi Boiler with Scunthorpe Boilers 🤏 Compact and No Tank Required: Combi boilers are ideal for smaller homes with limited loft space, as they have a compact design and do not require a tank. This eliminates the worry of loft piping freezing and allows for neat storage in an existing closet. 💷 Potentially More Affordable Solution: Installation costs may be lower due to less plumbing required. Additionally, the on-demand heating of water in a combi boiler can lead to reduced energy waste and lower energy bills. 🚿 Instant Hot Water: Combi boilers typically provide hot water on demand, making them convenient for activities like showering. Additionally, there is no need for a second pump as hot water is supplied at mains pressure. ♻️Increased Energy Efficiency: Combi boilers are known for their energy efficiency, especially when combined with other energy-saving devices such as smart thermostats. This technology can enhance control over home heating, allowing for remote control of heating while on the go. 📊 Overall, converting to a combi boiler offers multiple benefits, including space-saving design, potential cost savings, convenience, and increased energy efficiency. Contact us today for a FREE Quote and to ask about our finance options to spread the cost. Did you know that we offer Boiler Service Plans for complete peace of mind and emergency coverage? 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗩𝗔𝗖 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: As buildings expand, the need for effective air conditioning becomes paramount. While smaller structures rely on individual A/C units, larger edifices find cost-effective solutions in centralized HVAC systems. At the heart of these systems are HVAC chillers, colossal refrigeration units designed to cool expansive commercial and industrial spaces. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗛𝗩𝗔𝗖 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸: HVAC chillers, acting as industrial-scale A/C units, play a pivotal role in generating chilled water for air conditioning. The distinction lies in their size and mechanism. Rooftop chillers are typically air-cooled, while basement counterparts opt for water cooling. Water-cooled chillers utilize cooling towers, whereas air-cooled variants disperse heat into the atmosphere by blowing air across their condenser, resembling smaller A/C units. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀: The HVAC chillers market is witnessing a surge in demand, driven by the increasing preference for district cooling systems in diverse industries and high-rise buildings. District cooling, characterized by centralized cooling energy production and distribution, is gaining prominence for its cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency compared to traditional air cooling systems. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: In the realm of building comfort, HVAC chillers emerge as indispensable components, ensuring efficient and scalable cooling solutions. The shift towards district cooling systems reflects a broader trend towards sustainability and resource optimization in the HVAC industry.

Solving building performance issues for big energy users | Helping building owners, facility managers, HVAC designers, mechanical engineers, & contractors with HVAC equipment direct from the factory.
HVAC BASICS: EXPLORING THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEMS | To the newer building owner or the newcomer to mechanical contracting, a brief run down of the different types of heating and cooling systems might be helpful. This is really just a 30,000 foot flyover viewpoint. Here are some common types: HEATING 🌬️Forced Air Systems These systems distribute heat through the air and are commonly used here in the United States. Some can operate using electric furnaces, natural gas, propane, or fuel oil. ♨️Traditional Radiant Heating Systems AKA hydronic heating systems, these use a central boiler to heat water or steam, which is then circulated through radiators to heat the space. 🌡️Heat Pumps Heat pumps transfer heat between indoor and outdoor environments. They pull heat from the outside air, ground, or water. Known for their energy efficiency. ⚡Electric Resistance Heating These systems use electric coils or elements to produce heat. COOLING ⚙️ Central ACs Ducts are used to distribute cool air throughout a building. They have evaporator coils, condenser coils, and compressors to cool the air. 🌀Ductless Mini-Split Systems Great for zoned cooling without ductwork, connecting an outdoor condenser unit to indoor air-handling units. Larger versions are called Multi-Splits. They can have multiple heads per condenser. For even bigger systems, are called “VRF/VRF”. The secret sauce here being they all have what’s known as inverters. ❄️Geothermal Heat Pumps They use stable temperature of the ground to exchange heat efficiently. Working for both heating and cooling. 🌀Portable Air Conditioners These standalone units are movable and use refrigeration to cool specific rooms or areas. 🛋️HVLS Ceiling Fans While not actively cooling the air, “High-Volume, Low Speed” ceiling fans create a wind-chill effect by circulating air, enhancing the perceived cooling effect. These systems cater to different needs….and I’m sure others need to be added to this list. Please add your additions in the comments. #hvac #hvacdesign #hvacequipment #fans #chillers #boilers #cooling #heating #heatpump #heatingandcooling #HVLS #geothermal #ductless #VRF #VRV #minisplit #buildingperformance #mechanicalengineer #mechanicalcontractor #accountexecutive #coolingsystems #heatingsystems

HVACR
2moThis HP window unit is the best option in addition to the central HVAC system. The comfort temperature is never achieved on the 1st floor because the thermostat is located on the main floor. During peak heat or cold load, this lower tonnage is the best option to compensate at that time, which is the cheaper option.
