Permian Basin Gives day has arrived. MIDLAND ENERGY LIBRARY depends on the support of its paying members and donations in order to maintain the unique collection of petroleum data it houses. Since its foundation forty years ago, MIDLAND ENERGY LIBRARY continues to preserve important geological data that would otherwise be lost to history such as mud logs, large-scale logs and scout tickets. The library has also become of the home of historical data collections from Chevron and University Lands, allowing these materials to be more accessible to geologists and the industry as a whole. The library continues to move into the digital age with the scanning our mud log and large-scale log collections. In recent years we have added a workstation that allows our members to have access Petra, Geographix and Kingdom, which are cost-prohibitive for some independent geologists. We have also recently upgraded the computers in the library used by our staff and members, allowing for faster order fulfillment and faster access to Drillinginfo. Just this month we purchased a 36" plotter to better serve our members with cost-effective large format prints. MIDLAND ENERGY LIBRARY is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is self-sufficient but also depends on monetary donations to continue to improve the accessibility of our data. Developing prospects in the Permian Basin is highly dependent on good data, which we make available to our members and day-rate users. Early Drilling Success in 2024-> As recently reported, drill hole GD-24-235 intercepted abundant visible #gold & high-grade gold mineralization containing 35.04 g/t AuEq (34.16 g/t Au & 34.15 g/t Ag) over 6.34 m ~true width, within 15.86 g/t AuEq (15.40 g/t Au & 17.11 g/t Ag) over 11.9 m, corresponding to the Bonanza Shear. Continuing .........with Which Veins are Important? There are typically a wide range of vein types in most porphyry rock masses, but it is usually only the subset of weaker veins that are important in caving. They strongly influence the caveability, the fragmentation and also the stability of critical infrastructure. But how do we determine the weak ones from the strong ones? Initially the Moh’s hardness scale was used as a strength scale (Laubscher & Jakubec, 2000), but today, systematic testing (UCS, TCS and PLT) allow us to better understand how the different mineral infills impact vein strength. Obviously, we still need to consider other properties such as roughness & waviness, as well as considering how the different alteration facies modify vein strengths. $SER All eyes might be on the Achilles drill program, but that won't stop the team advancing our other greenfield's project. This week SER announced an exploration update for the West Koonenberry Project in NSW which captures over 480km2 of the interpreted western rifted portion of the Koonenberry Cu-Ni belt. SER is targeting mafic host rocks on the western side of the Bancannia Trough equivalent to the Mount Arrowsmith Volcanic Belt on the eastern side currently being explored by S2 Resources. Since securing the project in March this year, the team has negotiated land access, completed a field mapping program, flown a detailed magnetic survey and entered into a research agreement supported through CSIRO’s Kick-Start Program. The Kick-Start Program will see SER and CSIRO staff head to the field next month to collect over 80 soil samples for quantitative mineral analysis to identify potential magmatic sulphides indicative of undercover mineralisation.  There is plenty of news to ahead as we continue to execute our strategy - #search #explore #resolve Read the announcement here: https://bit.ly/4gmtgfV
