As the thermometer stubbornly lingered below freezing, it fuelled my desire to remind myself of warmer times. Our October trip to Pembrokeshire was unseasonably warm, which resulted in beach adventures and newly discovered locations. 🌅 Nestled at the mouth of the Teifi Estuary, Poppit Sands Beach is a perfect example of our explorations. At high tide, the sandy expanse is a picturesque haven, but low tide reveals a breathtaking stretch of sand that seems to reach almost Gwbert on the other side. However, watch the tide, especially when it's coming in – it moves fast! ⏰ Poppit Sands marks the beginning (or end) of the epic 186-mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path, an incredible journey that takes you along the entire coastline to Amroth in the south. If you are an avid walker, then lace up your hiking boots and embark on a coastal adventure like no other! 🥾 With the sheltered cove providing respite from the prevailing southwesterly winds it creates an ideal environment for wildlife watching. Immerse yourself in nature and witness the beauty of the coastline and its inhabitants. 🌿 What UK beaches do you recommend for our 2024 adventures? 👋I'm Dave 🔥Igniting curiosity to help you build a better business #thebusinessexplorer 👈 Follow this hashtag to see more of my content #weekendwalking #success #business #strategy #curiosity

Branford, CT: A Sound Choice for your Business Headquarters: The Thimble Islands: Branford's Enchanting Archipelago The Thimble Islands, a captivating archipelago nestled in the Long Island Sound off the coast of Branford, Connecticut, offer a picturesque blend of history, natural beauty, and recreational opportunities. Contrary to popular belief, their name doesn't refer to their size but rather to the thimbleberry bushes that once thrived on them. These idyllic islands have a rich history dating back centuries. They were once a refuge for Native Americans and a strategic location for fishing and trade. Tales of pirates, including the infamous Captain Kidd, further enrich the islands' past. In the late 19th century, the Thimbles became a summer playground for wealthy industrialists who constructed charming Victorian cottages, many of which still stand today. The archipelago's allure lies in its stunning natural beauty and the plethora of recreational opportunities it offers. Crystal-clear waters, rocky coastlines, and lush greenery create a serene and idyllic setting. Kayaking, boating, and fishing are popular activities for those seeking to explore the islands' aquatic wonders. Guided boat tours offer a unique perspective, allowing visitors to admire the charming cottages, learn about the islands' history, and perhaps even spot some local wildlife. Ownership of the Thimble Islands is primarily private, with many of the islands serving as secluded retreats for their owners. However, several islands are accessible to the public, allowing visitors to experience the magic of this special place. While the exact number of islands varies depending on the tide, there are well over a hundred, each with its own distinct character and charm. The Thimble Islands are a treasure trove waiting to be discovered. Whether you're drawn to their rich history, natural beauty, or recreational opportunities, a visit to this enchanting archipelago is sure to leave a lasting impression.
