Today, the State of Michigan celebrates the 12th annual Michigan Social Media Day and the 15th Social Media Day worldwide. First recognized by digital media site Mashable in 2010, Social Media Day acknowledges the impact social media has on our daily lives and how we use it to communicate. As the third U.S. state to officially recognize Social Media Day in 2012, Michigan has and continues to be a leader in its use. In 2024, the State of Michigan social media program surpassed 11 million followers. How did I achieve these Instagram reel results? I encouraged our client to share their feedback on a hot topic in the media related to their industry. My strategy was to use the greenscreen feature using a screengrab of the said hot topic. The data speaks for itself: ▶︎962,400K plays ▶︎9,130 reactions ▶︎192 comments ▶︎2,130 shares ▶︎918 saves ▶︎715 follows ... and these numbers continue to grow.
