Each shoot start in my head before arriving on the location or in studio. I do ask what angle we will be capturing the subjects? In this case it was a top shot, so that implies bringing necessary equipment with me to ensure we capture the images at there best based on angle, purpose, budget and use, rather than be at the mercy of what we find on the day...  Did you know that changing angle requires changing lighting setup especially from top to say front on shots?

Ultimately, it transforms raw footage into a powerful visual experience, making it an indispensable tool in the art of filmmaking.

Scrim Lights in HDR Light Studio let you replicate a light shining behind a scrim surface. Scrim Lights produce lovely realistic fall-offs of light that add something special to renders. The new Infinite Plane setting in 8.2 means that the scrim surface is boundless, so the edges of the light do not limit the lighting effect. You can now produce lighting effects replicating the scrim being very large or close to the subject. It removes nasty hard edges, and you can play with beautiful graduations of light. This is one of my favourite new features, although it's a little hard to explain. This video shows me messing around with the setting. The setting doesn't work on area lights, as they can not be infinitely large. The setting works with Scrim Lights on the HDRI map.

https://lnkd.in/gyh7SZfm This is a little tricky by yourself, but - new to me so still kinda challenging and fun: 1. Camera one - on an automated slider table: moving oh so slowly to my right. 2. Camera two - on a gimbal doing side to side movement, 3. Camera three - overhead behind me 4. Camera four - back of room on a tripod 5. 8 mics on drums running to a Digital Audio Workstation recording 6. Video edits on green screen from stock footage 7. An hour or two of editing to put it all together.

Adding virtual sun??? DaVinci Resolve Studio has a ton of tricks up its sleeve when it comes to color, but these effects are next level. I needed to match a previous shot that got a natural catch flare (intentional) and found that this effect had the ability to not only get close but almost match exactly what I had. All I had to do was slowly drag it out of the scene to fake a window. After I did that, it really started to come to gather when I added a bit of lift, washing the image a bit for realism. Try using the “Lens Flare” effect to add some virtual sun into your scene!!
