What's my title, really? 🤔 Being part of a company with a flat organizational structure where we have just three core roles - sales, recruiters, and consultants - means you often come to wear different hats. At Mpya Digital, everyone contributes to building the company, but for logical reasons, some responsibility falls automatically on those working in-house. And, of course, it's highly personalized, depending on your interest in company development and the form that takes. I'm a project manager, business developer, strategist, coach, recruiter, event planner, office manager, and advisor, just to name a few roles. I've chosen to shape my role around what I'm most passionate about and where the company benefits most from me. I'm a 'doer,' I appreciate those slightly less glamorous tasks like administration, being the hub in the wheel, and of course, the psychological aspect of assisting candidates in finding the right workplace for them—even if it's not with us. Describing my role can be challenging for both myself and others. No matter the title or ‘hat’ you put on, one of the most crucial tasks is being there for colleagues/candidates, being a role model, and a pillar of support! To sum it up, with many hats I have gained a bigger understanding of what is needed to build an organization - and figured out what I enjoy the most (and what I do not like). But how would I sum up my role? I think that my role ultimately falls under the fluffy word ’business development’. Developing the people around me, refining processes, and helping the company grow—that's precisely what business development is all about, isn't it? What is your title, really?

Each day in Business Development presents unique challenges and opportunities. Today, during a meeting with my team, something occurred to me that we don't always have centered in our radar. We were having a collaborative meeting to discuss a new tool we're utilizing. Everyone pitched in with great questions and ideas for making the roll-out of the tool as beneficial as possible. What really stood out to me is we were *having fun* while doing it. Business Development representatives have a challenging job, no doubt about it. It's a competitive job where we seek to get 1 percent better every day. But if you're: Being collaborative 🤝 Open to new ideas 💡 Using your resources to sharpen skills 🪒 Coaching to build strengths 💪 Partnering with others to grow 📈 And controlling the controllables ⚡️ Then it fosters an environment where you can have a great time doing the job. It may seem cliché but it cannot be overstated how important having a #oneteam mentality can be to your work environment. Equally important, remember to have fun!
