If you've been struggling to wrap your head around low carbon design and its practical applications, you're not alone. The good news? HERA has heard the call and is running a series of workshops designed to demystify the process and provide you with a clear, actionable understanding of low carbon design principles. This is based on our building research levy (via BRANZ) and steel research levy (via HERA) supported project titled "Circular design for a changing environment: a design framework to reduce construction waste, lifecycle embodied carbon, and to enhance the circular economy for construction materials, with a pilot for low-rise buildings".
This introductory session will cover everything from understanding life cycle assessments to applying circular design strategies. Led by our General Manager of Structural Systems, Dr. Kaveh Andisheh, and Associate Professor Helena Gervasio from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, these workshops will equip you with the tools and confidence you need to start making impactful, sustainable design choices.
📅 Being held across the motu in Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland, and Hamilton, these sessions are tailored to address the common challenges professionals face in adopting low carbon design.
Don’t miss your chance to get ahead—find out more and register to attend. Let’s turn uncertainty into expertise!
