The voice of Construction say #questionforgroup #linkedinfamily #linkedin Is this the future for the #constructionindustry in 2024 no more walls falling over due to high winds,#bricklayers #bricklayer #brickbud Experts from TWI have assisted a local company in the creation of an innovative #proppingsystem for #supportingbrickwalls against wind loading. Working as part of The Materials Integrity Technology Transfer (MITT) programme, TWI experts offered fully-funded technical advice and support to Tees Valley SME Harris Brick Safety Systems. It is estimated that one in every one hundred houses under construction suffer from collapsed walls, leading to an estimated cost of over £2.65 million per year in lost and replacement materials and labour. Contact Carl Harris of Harris Brick Safety Systems devised a prop system to support walls against wind loading as the cement dries. This is a major issue that has the potential to injure people on site and can cause the costs to escalate. 1ySurely just following simple bricklaying rules stops wall blowing over ? Don’t build above 1.5m before backing up and if it’s single skin don’t go above 1.5m in any 1 visit. Wind won’t blow that over !! 🌬️🌬️🌬️🌬️ And looking at some of that brickwork it needs knocking down and starting again. Don’t people mix there bricks anymore ?
