I follow all the rules IRL so I just do whatever I want on LinkedIn. I keep it light until it's heavy. I mostly post about: lawyering + leadership | finance + policy | trauma + wellbeing | blaxcellence + women.
Just a few random questions I had on my ride out east today: Can someone write a guide to wholeness for toxic people? Can the powers that be in Hollywood make a modern Columbo movie with Mark Ruffalo as the title character? Still along the entertainment lines, who do I need to talk to in order to have Gaga play in a biopic honoring Barbra Streisand? Is this already in the works…I see a movie based on the best-selling autobiography (so good). How can I fit in and be my authentic self at the same time when I’ve never actually fit? What if Donald wins? What if Kamala wins? What’s the story with Mayor Adams? And his crew? Is it too late to drop a mixtape? Why haven’t humans evolved to a place where we understand everyone’s life is important — whether we like them or not? Did I read that correctly that 1 BRIC = US$52? Why didn’t get my degrees framed and mounted yet? How much caffeine is too much? What if you got everything you asked for in this year of yes, would you embrace all of it? Where have all the cowboys gone…ahoooo?

“I called my first tonight, it’s meaningless in the grand scheme of things. What she did is historic.” JJ Redick takes a moment to recognize Doris Burke—who became the first woman to call any major U.S. men’s championship on TV last night.

Procyon Partners is one of the top 50 fastest growing companies in the country. They are a full service Financial firm, President Sean Rabinowitz provides exceptional outcomes for his clients and is a proud sponsor of Husky Talk. Husky Talk finally had one of my favorite guests on, UConn Football Defensive Linemen Ryan Timko. Big Slim as he was called, became a force up front. His story is remarkable because he played Volleyball and baseball primarily before being talked into playing football at Deland high in Florida. He played on a team with several division 1 players and was recruited by coaches coming to watch them, and being impressed with what Ryan was doing on the field. After, he committed to UConn, he had a great career and was a starter. He was part of the foundation that led us into transitioning to a Division 1 program. After, he followed in his father's footsteps and attended optometry school in Boston. Married now with kids, he started his own practice after selling the business he joined on with his dad. Nobody can make you laugh and entertain like Big Slim, Ryan Timko! Michael Burton runs Bleeding Blue for Good and Storrs Central to raise NIL money for UConn. To sustain continued success in all sports and especially football, we need to come together as alumni to donate which allows us to recruit top talent. Please go to Bleedingblueforgood.org and give whatever you can because every dollar counts. Over the next 4 days will share some tips we believe will help you recognizing warning signs that your child may be mistreated. On and Off the field it's crucial that you ensure your child's well-being and safety. Here are some indicators to watch out for: 1. Physical Injuries: Frequent or unexplained injuries, especially if they seem to occur during practices or games. 2. Changes in Behavior: Noticeable changes in your child's behavior, such as increased anxiety, withdrawal, mood swings, or sudden reluctance to participate in sports activities. 3. Fear or Apprehension: Expressions of fear or apprehension about attending practices or games, or reluctance to be around specific coaches or teammates. 4. Excessive Criticism: Your child receives constant criticism or negative feedback from coaches, peers, or even parents, which may undermine their confidence and self-esteem. 5. Bullying or Harassment: Signs of bullying, harassment, or exclusion from teammates, coaches, or other individuals associated with the sports program. As an organization, as coaches, parents and human beings we believe it is our job to protect ALL children no matter what! #FMBA #WEBELONGHERE #CANWEALLJUSTGETALONG

One of the best, and most misused, quotes from the wonder-years of 1980s movies comes from the classic "Field of Dreams": “If you build it, he will come.” This classic baseball movie represents all that is right about heart-string tugging storytelling for most people. Unfortunately, the “If you build it, ___ will come” thinking also represents all that is wrong about building-committee facility planning for many church leaders.
