Once AI delivers full automation to the full cyberattack lifecycle, traditional tier 1 and tier 2 security operation center (SOC) analysts may become unnecessary because they won’t be able to respond to cyber incidents fast enough. The only choice will be to leverage AI-driven automation to stay abreast (or ahead) of the attackers.

Interesting article about staffing in cyber. I hear a lot about the lack of qualfied/skilled people and this is a different perspective

I don't see it discussed much however the last 12 months have seen a tremendous amount of vendor consolidation, in cybersecurity. As with anything there are pros and cons to this. One of the major cons is a lot of people are finding themselves as casualties of war. I have talked to many people who lost their jobs and are rightfully scared. Two things: 1. If you are blessed enough to have some form of employment, be thankful and if you come across someone close to you in need, take time for them. 2. If you are one of these folks impacted, network like you have never networked before and consider this as maybe an opportunity to use your skills to do your own thing.
