Attended the Global Leadership Summit virtual conference yesterday. Had some big ‘aha’ moments throughout the day but this one hit close to the bone. “If you’re always doing something new, you’ll never do something great.” I’m a sucker for always trying new things. “Busy leaders don’t change the world. Focused leaders do.” I don’t know how many times I’ve said ‘I’m busy’ over the past 30 days. So, here’s the promise I made to myself. I’m going to get obsessed about 1 thing from now until this time next year and see what happens. HubSpot productivity & engagement. I’m going to eat HubSpot APIs for breakfast. I’m going to LIVE inside my CRM. I’m going to be testing, trialling and exploring everything I can to make the most productive, efficient, smart and fun HubSpot system IN THE FREAKING WORLD. One of the themes that came up -- How to deal with the uncomfortable situations: - an executive going off topic - disagreement that isn't being resolved - giving feedback to a senior business partner One simple tip? Sticky notes. Write down a sentence starter, so you don't have to figure out WHAT to day in the moment. If you don't know what to say, you are unlikely to say anything.
