💡 Dealing with Difficult People: A Journey of Reflection and Growth 💡 We had fun exploring strategies for handling difficult people during meetings and workshops. We went through powerful tools and techniques for managing different personalities. One of the most important lessons? Sometimes we are the difficult ones. As we explored real-world business cases, we recognized that the qualities we find challenging in others can sometimes mirror our own behavior. It was a humbling realization and a powerful reminder: Growth begins with self-awareness. Is listening one of the traits you value in your leader and that you consciously model? Sometimes, when things are moving quickly, and you feel the pressure of deadlines, you can lose sight of this important action. Here are some things I am working on to be a better listener: 👂 Ask Open-Ended Questions: Swap “Why did you do this?” with “What was your thought process here?” 👂 Pause Before Responding: Silence can feel awkward but shows you’re considering their input. 👂 Clarify What You Heard: Repeat back key points to ensure you understand their perspective.
