Have you ever observed that a perfume that smells amazing on a friend might have a completely different personality when worn by you? You aren’t the only person facing this. Here is why it happens: 1/ Each of us has a unique chemical makeup that influences how we respond to smells. Even among closely related people, there are considerable differences in skin composition, which affects how a scent behaves. 2/ Perfumes are mixtures of natural and synthetic components. Due to conditions like temperature, natural ingredients like flower extracts and wood might differ slightly. They produce a unique smell when they interact with the chemistry of our skin. Like skincare products, every skin will react to fragrance based on its pH balance. In other words, how acidic the skin is will change how fragrance smells. The skin's pH balance determines how sensitive it is and how dry or oily it is. So, a perfume can never smell exactly the same on two people because everyone has a different lifestyle. Have you ever noticed or felt the same? #perfumery
