Chief Executive Falmouth Harbour | Atlantic Gateway | Passionate about Ocean Health | Transforming Falmouth Harbour
We are heading towards the end of the consultation on our new Harbour Revision Order at Falmouth Harbour, Cornwall We are really striving to be more open and transparent but still we struggle with trust in our local community about our plans and objectives. There is some local speculation about how this may affect mooring holders in our Harbour. We have done a lot more than most #Harbours to provide added information so bit frustrating. So been a tough week managing truth rather than rumour. My team are committed to pushing openness, but we have a legacy to change. Trying to reassure: https://lnkd.in/eueiBRnU Our new HRO is about making our harbour safer for water users. Our harbour is getting busier by the year and more diverse and we have to have the correct tools in place so we can manage and keep safe everything from large commercial ships right down to open water swimmers and also our marine wildlife. We have to have a strong legal basis for the management of our harbour for all our stakeholders and the new HRO will allow us to make the harbour safer and be progressive at the same time. Really important that people do feed into the consultation and make representations as this is the purpose of the consultation period that ends 9th October More here: https://lnkd.in/ekCmutiN British Ports Association #HarbourLife #AtlanticGateway 🇬🇧 #harbour #sea #port #photography #travel #boats #boat #ship #ships ##ocean #shipspotting #sailing #water #shipping #vessel
