Meet Sheryl! Sheryl has been serving as a dedicated member of the OBRA team as an RN for 3 years. Her favorite part about her position is that she gets to research patients' medical histories and make recommendations for optimal living placements for each individual. Upon reminiscing about how Milestone has impacted her, Sheryl shares, "Everything we do here, we do to help someone else, think about that the next time you think the world is unredeemable." Sheryl's time outside of work is filled with reading, family, and harassing her husband (he's way too much fun, she adds).

🗣 Last summer I became aware that my purpose is to now serve professionals who experienced a significant life event that trap them in observing life from the sidelines without true connection and intimacy with others. I will serve caregivers in special ways throughout the years because I know first-hand what it means to be a caregiver and how that role impacts every aspect of your life. 👉 Read more ► https://lnkd.in/gimZiCpy

I love that we're starting to have these non-clinical conversations within the equine veterinary space! Empowering individuals to take responsibility for themselves is a wonderful thing that I think should be encouraged... and at the same time we need to accept a collective responsibility for supporting that individual on their journey. There are of course tales of individuals who have, against all the odds, tackled every obstacle in their path and excelled in the pursuit of their goals. However we often forget to look at all the people who supported them along the way. Putting everything on the individual, in my opinion, isn't a long term plan for success. As the proverb goes "if you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together". Let's stop telling individuals they didn't "succeed" because they didn't work hard enough/ want it badly enough/ make enough sacrifices. How about we help them nurture their passions, find their purpose and cheer them on as they go? #equinevet #empower #purpose #success #bettertogether #teamwork #notindividualism

💡Good question. When writing personal profile stories there are two essentials: ➡ Crafting solid questions. To help prepare, I make it a practice to collect and archive great questions. Who does it best? theSkimm's 9 to 5ish podcast opens each episode with a speed round of one-answer questions to warm up the conversation. Love this approach! ➡ Listening closely. The opportunity to hear the career journeys of empathetic professionals - in this case OB Hospitalist Group clinician Eric Colton - is a privilege. Dr. Colton had so many wonderful things to share. For those who receive his care, or have the opportunity to learn from him, they are the lucky ones! Thank you Eric Colton, M.D., Amy Bomar, Emmy Monroe, MBA, Taylor Avery for the opportunity. 📣Writers: What questions do you ask that garner the best answers?
Serving as an OB Hospitalist is a career path Eric Colton, M.D. feels should have been an option earlier in his professional journey. Looking back on the missed special occasions and family moments, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and his children’s games, he now realizes the extent of his burnout at that time. Today, he finds much happier satisfaction in achieving a better balance between his work and personal life. Beyond his medical duties, Dr. Colton finds joy in outdoor pursuits like cycling, hiking, and exploring wine with his wife Shannon. CEO | Provides Ownership for Payroll Sales Reps through Journey Franchise | Top 50 Companies To Watch | Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies 12x
LEADEDSHIP 101… Kyte Baby's CEO is under fire, rightfully so, for denying an employee the ability to work from home when her newborn is in the NICU. I do not grasp how leaders expect people to move their company forward, but don’t put those people as their first priority. It seriously baffles me. When you find out an employee is expecting a child, 3 things should be said. (1) Show your personal support for your employee as they are going through an extremely exciting, critical, and potentially scary time. (2) Tell them to do what they need to do personally and just keep you informed of their plans. (3) Ask what can you do for them. In addition, if an employee comes to you and says a loved one is in the hospital…. You don’t need anymore information. Again, 3 things should be said: (1) Show your personal support for your employee as they are going through an extremely tough time. (2) Tell them to do what they need to do personally and to keep you informed of their plans. (3) Ask what you can do for them. Someone may take advantage of you, but you can deal with that later in those rare circumstances. You can’t play your hand in defense for the 1% of people that ruin a good thing. Show your heart ❤️ Life is about people ❤️
