🌟 Exciting News Alert! 🌟 I'm thrilled to share the fantastic experience I had at the recent IIBA Brisbane Shark Tank-style event, organized by the incredible team at Exclaim IT! 🦈💼 This event was an absolute game-changer, bringing together business analysts from a multitude of diverse backgrounds, spanning industries like mining, teaching, e-commerce, automobile, and beyond. It was a melting pot of expertise, innovation, and collaboration unlike anything I've ever seen before in the BA community. The energy in the room was palpable as we all gathered to pitch our ideas, share insights, and learn from one another. From discussing the latest trends in data analytics to exploring innovative approaches to project management, every conversation was brimming with creativity and passion. What truly stood out to me was the incredible level of diversity among the participants. We had individuals with a wealth of experience in traditional sectors like mining, bringing invaluable insights into operational efficiency and risk management. At the same time, we had trailblazers from the e-commerce and tech sectors, offering fresh perspectives on customer engagement and digital transformation. But perhaps the most inspiring part of the event was witnessing the spirit of collaboration that permeated every interaction. Despite coming from different industries and backgrounds, we all shared a common goal: driving positive change through effective business analysis. Whether it was brainstorming solutions to real-world challenges or offering mentorship to newcomers in the field, everyone was eager to support one another and foster a culture of growth and innovation. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Exclaim IT for organizing such a phenomenal event and providing a platform for BAs to come together, share ideas, and elevate the profession as a whole. It's events like these that remind me why I'm so passionate about what I do and inspire me to continue pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the world of business analysis. I couldn't agree more with this article, more needs to be done to create more interest, awareness and opportunities for the next generation. Within my plans and ambitions for yolo wealth this is a top priority. My fellow advisers and business owners out there, are apprenticeships the future? I am seriously considering going down the apprenticeship route with a candidate next year. I'd love to speak to anyone that has either offered this through their business or an adviser out there that took this route? Our Masters of Accounting students recently had the opportunity to meet with Petri Oksanen, Partner and Co-Head of Europe of Private Equity firm Francisco Partners while in London. The class gained valuable insights from Petri, drawing upon his extensive career experience: 1. Specialization can lead to strong value creation. This applies to private equity but also applies on a personal level. Get good at what’re you’re passionate about and success will follow. 2. Bigger market sizes don’t necessarily equate to bigger opportunities to expand. Smaller markets with a mission critical solution can allow for market share to be acquired faster. 3. “You are only as good as the collection of your experiences and skills” Don’t rush the process, take your time learning and developing skills that will make you a valuable team member. Ready to flex your real estate skills? 🌟 Join the PropConnex Case Competition to analyze real-world scenarios and impress industry experts! What is PropConnex? PropConnex is a thrilling Real Estate Case Competition where students analyze and present a given case to judges. Each team has 20 minutes to present, followed by a 20-minute Q&A session. The judges will then deliberate for five minutes. This will be repeated until all teams have presented. The judges will then discuss and choose a finalist to represent Macquarie at the national competition. Competition Requirements? Each team must include 5-6 members, with at least one female. All members must be currently enrolled undergraduates at Macquarie University. This competition is exclusively for undergraduates to highlight their talents as they prepare to enter the job market. What happens if you win? The winning team advances to represent Macquarie at the national level, competing against universities from across Australia and New Zealand. They'll attend special presentations hosted by top Australian Commercial Real Estate firms, featuring presentations, office tours, and career mentoring. Additionally, the top two teams at the national competition will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to compete in the Cornell PropConnex Real Estate Case Competition in New York City in November 2024!
