#CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) offers several advantages for sellers in international trade: Control Over Logistics: As seller you manage transportation, insurance, and freight together with companies you know in order to achieve cost savings and ensure quality handling of goods. Market Competitiveness: By handling shipping and insurance, sellers make their products more attractive to buyers, especially those unfamiliar with international logistics, potentially increasing sales and customer satisfaction. Quicker Payments: Sellers can receive payment once the goods are loaded and the necessary documents are provided, improving cash flow and reducing financial risk. With Oceanfreight, the original Bill of Lading might only be provided to buyer after payment. Ensuring payment before delivery. Risk Management: Including insurance in the contract protects goods against loss or damage during transit, safeguarding financial interests and facilitating dispute resolution. Global Reach: Offering comprehensive shipping solutions helps sellers access new markets, diversify their customer base, and mitigate market fluctuations. Overall, CIF enhances operational efficiency, profitability, and fosters stronger buyer relationships. #Incoterms #Shipping #internationaltrade #cargo #Airfreight #Container

How Shipping Rates Are Determined and How To Avoid Overspending ◾ Typical billing queries often include inquiries about shipping rates, additional fees, tracking information, delivery times, customs charges (int’l shipments), insurance, special handling and surcharges. ◾ There are many factors and some of these include, freight type, package type, mode of transport, size, weight, destination distance and level of service. All are calculated to determine the shipping cost. ◾ There are plenty of variables to consider too, let’s look at weight.. .. Carriers may charge for a minimum weight or have a tiered pricing structure for unit and total weight. They may charge for volumetric weight or actual weight. For example, volumetric weight (or dimensional weight) reflects the space a package occupies in relation to its weight. This ensures fair pricing, incentivises efficient packaging and is a better utilisation of space, especially for lightweight but bulky items. ◾ Knowing and understanding shipping costs is crucial to budgeting, pricing and overall profitability as well as delivering a positive experience for your customers and optimising your business operations. ◾ Knowing and understanding all available carrier services and how they can support your shipping needs and business requirements will help you make the right choices. hashtag#shippingexpert hashtag#shippingadvice hashtag#shippingservices hashtag#shippingrates hashtag#tailoredshippingservice hashtag#optimiseshippingspend hashtag#shippingunderoneroof InXpress South West – 07494060796

DID YOU KNOW… Following two years of major operational costs increases, trucking costs continued to rise across the board in 2023 – despite the recessionary #freight market – though at moderated rates. Excluding fuel, costs rose 6.6 percent in 2023, which was still nearly double the rate of inflation during the same period. Insurance premiums and truck / trailer payments had the highest rate of increase after toll costs. 🚛🔧 The rising costs of fleet maintenance and repair are creating significant challenges for the trucking industry. According to the latest data from the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI), the costs associated with repairing and maintaining our trucks have increased by 3.1% in the past year. This continues to be a critical component of overall operational costs, following year-over-year increases of 12% and 18.2% in prior years. As fleet managers, it's more important than ever to focus on strategies that mitigate these rising costs. Proactive maintenance and leveraging new technology to manage breakdowns can all contribute to better cost control.
