On this World Day Against Child Labour, we recognize the harsh reality faced by children in vulnerable communities, where they often leave schools to perform heavy works. At Dufatanye Organization, we are committed to ending child labour in all its forms. Now is the time to make the elimination of child labour a reality. Let’s treat our children right and raise awareness. Every child deserves love, learning, and laughter — not exploitation and hardship. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a brighter, safer tomorrow for all children. Let's join hands to create a future where every child can dream without boundaries. Men of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire - we need your help... Juno Women's Aid is currently fighting what the National Police Chiefs' Council describes as an "epidemic of offending", with a recent report showing a 37% increase in violent crimes against women and girls since 2018. In total, the charity has supported nearly 3,000 women and more than 500 children in the last year - up six and nine per cent respectively on the previous 12 months. Tasarla L., Yasmin Rehman and the team do an incredible job but they need more support, which is where #Notts500 comes in. The idea behind #Notts500 is two-fold. On a fundamental level, it's asking men for a £2 per month donation to the charity to help fund its vital work supporting survivors of domestic violence and abuse. But beyond that, it's about starting the conversation. It's about enabling change and making sure we raise the next generation in the right way. As men, we have a responsibility to hold each other to account and tackle the spiral of domestic violence – we want #Notts500 to be a conversation starter that leads to real change in terms of attitudes, outlooks and awareness. I'm incredibly proud to stand alongside Kevin Smith, Amani Darr and Al Booth as ambassadors for this campaign, and I would urge all men to pledge that £2 per month and be part of the change. https://lnkd.in/eqteSvxC
As part of our ongoing support of Juno Women's Aid, our director Tom Snee has been named as an ambassador for the newly launched Notts500 campaign. The initiative calls on 500 men across Nottinghamshire to pledge £2 a month in support of women and families affected by domestic violence. In the photo, Tom is joined by fellow ambassadors Kevin Smith of Marchini Curran Associates - Architects and Designers, TDX Group's Amani Darr, Notts TV presenter Al Booth and Tasarla Larner, Juno’s fundraising and communications manager. As Tom puts it: “While the money raised will be of huge support to the charity’s ongoing essential work with survivors, the Notts500 campaign is as much about advocacy and ensuring that conversations are being had and action is being taken.” Join us in standing up to violence against women - pledge your support today and make a difference. 🔗 Join the campaign here: https://lnkd.in/eregYfjX #Notts500 #StandAgainstViolence #JunoWomensAid #EndDomesticViolence

Breaking the Myth: Africans Don't Donate? Let's Talk About It There's a common narrative that Africans don't donate or engage in philanthropy. But is this true? Absolutely not. Across Africa, we witness acts of generosity every single day—helping a neighbor in need, contributing to community fundraisers, or supporting local schools and places of worship. It’s just that our giving often happens in informal, deeply personal ways, rooted in our sense of community and ubuntu. This is exactly why Little X Little exists. It's a platform designed to take our inherent culture of generosity and scale it for greater impact. By bringing together individuals and organizations, we’re creating a space where small contributions can build up to something extraordinary. It’s not about waiting for billionaires to save the day. It’s about each of us doing what we can—little by little. Because when we give together, we grow together. Let’s reshape the narrative and show the world what African generosity truly looks like. 🌍 Are you ready to make a difference? Join us. Buy Juma a book here https://lnkd.in/dRq5Rs5w #littlexlittle

Are charities ‘often uncomfortable’ about investing in collaboration? At a panel discussion at the Association of Charitable Foundations’ Leaders forum last week, our vice-chair Nezahat Cihan highlighted the importance of collaboration for systems change. Nezehat said it was difficult for charities to work on tackling systemic and structural inequalities alone. “This requires a collaboration and partnership with everyone working together to actually make a systemic change that can be lasting and sustainable. “In that sense, it’s really worth it – worth the pain, time and investment. “A lot of collaboration is happening already, we can see through our networks and forums, we are members in our boroughs and nationwide. “It’s just we need to approach those collaborations more structurally and systematically.” The Domestic Abuse Development Partners (DADP) project, co-funded by Cripplegate Foundation and City Bridge Foundation, aims to explore how a collaborative, relational approach can improve the experiences and outcomes for survivors of domestic abuse. Project participants include a collective of local women with lived experience of domestic abuse and local organisations who want to work together to improve the experience of survivors in Islington. Read the full article on Third Sector and more about the DADP, a key example of effective collaborative working, via the links in our comments. #Collaboration #PartnershipWorking #HowNotWhat #Partnerships #ThoughtLeadership #ThirdSector #Islington

Redefining Work: Gifts, not money only, for Women's Empowerment in Africa As a gender specialist leading a non-profit, I constantly encounter a critical question: how do you empower a woman who has faced immense hardship, now raising her children, without immediate financial promises or equipment donations? Through experience, we've discovered a powerful solution: the "gift-centered approach." We guide women and young girls in discovering their unique talents and how these gifts can positively impact themselves, their families, and their communities. Our organization has demonstrated the ability to achieve impactful outcomes even when working with women from diverse educational backgrounds Our African communities often expect individuals to simply accept whatever work they find, neglecting the importance of self-discovery and purpose. Though we all know that real sucess comes from that alignment. As changemakers, I believe we must champion a new vision of education and work. Real education and personal development should not remain in limited access for a few people. This is especially crucial for women and girls who have overcome significant obstacles and are still living in poverty. As we continue to refine our advocacy efforts, we aim to secure increased donor support for personal development initiatives alongside existing education and income-generating activities. Happy belated workers day LTL #GiftCenteredWomenEmpowerment #WomenAndWork #SustainableDevelopmentGoals #EmpoweringCommunities
